    Account Officer

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Account Officer to support the daily financial and administrative operations of the Accounts Department.
    • The successful candidate will assist with transaction processing, record keeping, financial documentation, and basic reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across all accounting functions.
    • The role requires strong numerical ability, sound organization, and a willingness to learn in a structured finance environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Transactions & Documentation:

    • Assist in preparing and updating financial records and supporting documents.
    • Support the posting of daily transactions into accounting systems or spreadsheets.
    • Maintain accurate filing and documentation of payment vouchers, receipts, and invoices.

    Accounts Payable & Receivable Support:

    • Assist in processing vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and payment requests.
    • Track outstanding payments and support receivables updates.
    • Issue receipts and update payment logs accurately.

    Reconciliations & Reporting:

    • Support basic bank, supplier, and internal account reconciliations.
    • Assist in preparing periodic financial summaries and expense reports.
    • Support internal or external audit exercises by preparing required documents.

    Administrative Support to the Department:

    • Maintain proper organization of accounting files and records.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.

    Key Attributes / Qualifications of Ideal Candidate

    • HND or B.Sc. in Accounting.
    • 1-3 years relevant experience in accounting or finance support roles.
    • NYSC completion is required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Good communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
    • Willingness to learn and grow within the Accounts Department.
