Role Overview

• Under the supervision of the Auditor General, the incumbent will ensure proper functioning of the finance section, develop financial policies, preparation of budgets and ensure operational efficiency in the Office of the Auditor General.

Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare Financial Statements for the Office of Auditor General;
• Manage payables and receivables for the Office of Auditor General;
• Execute bank and other reconciliations as well as periodic financial analysis;
• Execute and present for approval the risk assessment for the finance function;
• Manage Cash Controls;
• Assist in budget monitoring for the Office of the Auditor General;
• Perform tasks while adhering to the Code of Ethics of Professional Accountants;
• Manage all documents of the finance section of the Office of The Auditor General;
• Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Academic QualificatIons and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or in a similar field from a recognized University.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting and budget;
• Knowledge and technical competence in financial statements consolidation and ability to respond to internal/external audit queries;
• Knowledge of cash management practices, policies and procedures, and the ability to make appropriate recommendations to improve their accuracy, security timeliness and efficiency;
• Knowledge of various payments systems, banking terminologies, pension fund practices and relevant financial management processes and policies.

Age Limit:

• Be below 50 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.

• Proficiency in  information communication technologies(ICT);
• Fluency in oral and written expressions in one of the ECOWAS official languages of the Community (English, French & Portuguese). Knowledge of an additional one will be an added advantage.
• Ability to develop,  implement an individual action plan for achieving specific work  goals;
• Identify ,organize and monitor tasks throughout to facilitate execution;
• Ability to contribute and/or lead on projects as per accepted project management standards and techniques, to co-ordinate contributions by others  to set and meet deadlines;
• Ability to organize work, set priorities, and work within timelines, giving attention to details, stakeholders, indicators and risks;
• Ability to identify, collect and assess indicators to monitor performance and to take proactive remedial action as required.

Salary
UA 49,106.81; USD $77,480.72 annually.
