    Account & Finance Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Finance & Accounts department.
    • Oversee and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
    • Prepare, review, and present financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss accounts to management and board.
    • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
    • Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts, bank statements, and ledger entries.
    • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and investment opportunities to optimize financial performance.
    • Ensure full compliance with tax regulations: VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Company Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits, and implement audit recommendations.
    • Develop and enforce internal control policies to protect company assets.
    • Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
    • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making and organizational growth.
    • Supervise and mentor junior finance and accounts staff.
    • Drive adoption of technology and accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Sage, or similar).

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.

    Professional certifications:

    • ICAN, ACCA, CFA, CIMA
    • Strong proficiency in accounting/ERP software (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Sage).
    • Excellent knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, and corporate finance.
    • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
