Chef at AFM Recruit

AFM Recruit is a recruiting firm based in Lekki phase 1. We are currently recruiting Chef for our client, a leading hospitality firm in Lekki, Lagos. The incumbent will be responsible for studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Studying each recipe and gathering all necessary ingredients
• Cooking food in a timely manner and informing wait staffs about daily specials
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

REQUIREMENTS

• Certification from a reputable culinary school / related degree
• Proven work experience as a Chef
• Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
• Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management abilities
• Updates knowledge of, and familiarity, with safety and sanitation rules.
