Procurement Assistant at Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)

The Procurement Assistant reports to the Procurement Officer - Maiduguri.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines, policies and procedures and other NRC tools and handbooks.
• Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost-efficiency focus in all procurement processes.
• Conduct procurement process with focus on country and NRC regulations.
• Prepare procurement documents in line with NRC procurement procedures.

Specific responsibilities

• Collect cash advances and proceed with cash procurements.
• Prepare requests for quotations and source bids & quotations in accordance with NRC procurement regulations.
• Liaise with receiving units and suppliers to collect invoices and Delivery documents.
• Prepare the payment request, ensure complete paper trail is attached and submit to the Logistics Officer for verification.
• Maintain proper files for procurement documents (as per local filling procedures).
• Performs any other task reasonably assigned by the supervisor.

• Experience from working as a Procurement Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

• Good communication and negotiation skills in English and Hausa Language
• Interpersonal skills, computer skills
• Compliance with NRC and donor policies, procedures and systems which are related to Logistics departments
