    Job Summary

    • The Exchange seeks to develop and establish an Exchange Traded Derivatives Market. In furtherance of this objective, the Exchange currently seeks to engage a Derivatives Project Manager.
    • The Derivatives Project Manager (DPM) will be responsible for design, execution and delivery of the Derivatives Implementation Plan by creating an innovative delivery approach and ensuring all components of the plan and respective project work-streams are completed in line with expected quality and stipulated timelines.
    • By collaborating with key stakeholders, the DPM will develop and execute a strategic delivery plan and understand the critical success factors. As such, the DPM will track and manage the key project phases, from initiation to completion.
    • The DPM will be required to apply exceptional organisational skills to manage dependencies across a number of project work streams, ensuring they are in line with the integrated plan and facilitate the completion of tasks.
    • Working alongside stakeholders assigned to specific tasks, the DPM will request timely updates to track and monitor progress, as well as manage issues resolution.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Scope and review ETD Project Plan and Implementation schedule with all stakeholders; revise the schedule as required and agree with Executive Management (EXCO)
    • Develop a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
    • Determine resources required to complete the project within agreed timelines
    • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to the activities
    • Obtain requisite approvals and funding for proposed strategies and plans concerning the project
    • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
    • Design and implement market model/mechanism to facilitate effective and efficient trading and settlement of ETDs
    • Facilitate the establishment and implementation of the requisite legal and regulatory framework support the ETD market
    • Development and approval of the appropriate rule book necessary for ETDs, with detailed Contract specifications: Identification of underlying assets (equities/fixed income/etc) on which to create derivatives contracts; definition of contract types to be created in respect of the derivative instruments (Futures, Options); definition of product sequencing to ensure urgent market needs are delivered as a priority and adequate levels of adoption; creation and approval of contract specifications
    • Supervise ETD trading solution implementation with The Exchange's current trading systems and interfaces to trade derivative instruments and connect to post trade systems (CCP); including the required user acceptance and market readiness tests to ensure quality assurance
    • Oversee implementation of an appropriate front end derivatives trading module to use with the Exchanges X-GEN platform for trading derivatives
    • Act as the internal and external champion of the derivative product by effectively and appropriately communicating with all stakeholders regarding product creation and launch
    • Act as Business Development Manager to facilitate market acceptance & retainership by building and managing relationships with players
    • Identification, specification and implementation of appropriate market, Exchange and regulatory reports and associated data warehouse to support derivatives trading
    • Development of the appropriate internal processes and standard operating procedures necessary to achieve the smooth operations and trading of Derivatives within the Exchange
    • Generate list of Derivative Market report and design the necessary report requirements for production
    • Creation of value chain for The Exchange, Broker Dealers and Clearing Members
    • Education, accreditation and licensing of participants that will trade derivatives
    • Engagement with key external stakeholders such as the SEC, FIRS, CBN and PENCOM
    • Support the implementation project to establish an EMIR compliant Clearing Counterparty (CCP) to clear the ETD contracts
    • Develop forms and records to document project activities
    • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
    • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
    • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
    • Establish and manage a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
    • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
