    Associate, Post Harvest Loss Alliance for Nutrition (6 month contract)

    Job description
    GAIN has developed the Postharvest Loss Alliance for Nutrition (PLAN) to bring together the  public and private sector actors to address malnutrition  collectively in order to reduce loss and waste of nutritious foods.

    PLAN acts as both a global nucleus for coordination, programming, research, knowledge exchange and investment on postharvest food loss, as well as acting as the national hub in emerging markets for business to business (B2B) engagement. Through National and Global Alliances of stakeholders engaged in postharvest loss and waste reduction, GAIN will serve as the backbone organization driving for collective impact.

    The PLAN Associate will work closely with the PLAN Project Manager to manage and coordinate the activities of the Alliance and the B2B engine in Nigeria. S/He will strategically maintain and develop relationships between Alliance members and B2B companies and Implement innovative project management solutions to ensure constant communication, smooth and timely budget disbursements.
    The ideal candidate will have experience in the performance management of agribusiness related to reducing postharvest losses of nutritious foods and strong experience in managing agriculture and business issues in Nigeria. It is essential that the candidate has the ability to operate within the corporate and public sectors to effectively liaise with private companies, development agencies, and governments in multiple cultures. Excellent communication skills are essential in addition to fluency in English.
