Job Summary
The Poultry Operations Analyst is responsible for analyzing and monitoring flock performance across contract farms, ensuring accurate tracking of feed consumption, DOC placement, live bird movements, slaughtering activities, and financial settlements.
The role supports operational efficiency, cost control, and accurate reporting through timely data analysis, coordination with procurement and suppliers, and system updates on VD.
Key Responsibilities
Flock Performance Analysis & Monitoring:
- Analyze flock results for all contract farms and evaluate performance indicators.
- Monitor feed consumption in terms of quantity and value per flock.
- Identify excess feed and coordinate transfers to other farms under the same account holder when required.
- Monitor Day-Old Chick (DOC) placement and live chicken loading at the end of each flock cycle.
- Update and maintain comprehensive flock reports with accurate operational data.
Accounting & Intercompany Transactions:
Initiate and follow up on required transfers between:
- Customer account
- Supplier (Live Chicken) account
- Request and support settlements between intercompany accounts in line with approved procedures.
- Ensure all transactions are properly documented and aligned with operational records.
DOC & Breeder Operations:
- Create DOC sales orders on VD and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor DOC sales order processing through to successful closure on VD.
- Create Breeder sales orders on VD and follow up on delivery and order closure.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve delivery or system discrepancies.
Slaughtering & Procurement Support:
- Prepare and maintain Excel schedules for slaughtering activities.
- Send weekly Excel sheets to the Procurement team containing:
- Customer name
- Expected loading quantities
- Agreed prices
- Support Procurement in the creation of Purchase Orders (POs) on VD.
- Prepare end-of-week Excel summaries for procurement to enable timely closure of POs on VD.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all operational and analytical reports.
- Maintain proper records for audits, management review, and operational planning.
- Provide periodic insights and recommendations to improve flock performance and cost efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in poultry operations, production analysis, or agribusiness analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Experience using ERP systems (VD or similar platforms) is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of poultry production cycles, DOC, breeder, and slaughtering operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
