    Head of Finance Ops

    Responsibilities

    • Provide and interpret Financial information;
    • Monitor, interpret cash-flow and predict future trends;
    • Analyse change and advise accordingly;
    • Prepare short and long-term budgetary plans - Financial Forecasting;
    • Formulate strategic business plans;
    • Research and report factors influencing business performance;
    • Analyse market trends viz-a-viz competitors.
    • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
    • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities;
    • Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems;
    • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue;
    • Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines;
    • Manage budgets
    • When necessary, arrange new sources of finance for the company's debt facilities
    • Supervise staff in the department
    • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
    • Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.

    Competencies Required

    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external affiliates and clients
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. We are building ventures from scratch, learning and solving problems along the way
    • Hands-on attitude. E-commerce is 50% operations, so you must not be afraid of rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty
    • Experience with or curiosity for IT systems and ERP systems. E-commerce is 50% IT, so you must not be afraid of systems
    • Strong drive and ability to implement change in fast moving organizations
    • Willingness to make decisions as necessary and appropriate in accordance with company policies. Self-starter who will take initiative to effect positive change
    • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information and professionalism at all times
    • Accuracy and attention to detail

    Qualification & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, Economics or equivalent
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a supervisory Finance/ Accounting role
    • Certification from any recognized professional body (ACCA, ACA, ICAN, CFA) is compulsory
    • At least 4 years practical experience in a fast paced environment
    • Adequate knowledge of the Ecommerce Industry
