    QUALIFICATION
    a. Department of Commercial and Industrial Law
    (i) Professor
     
    A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a Ph.D. degree in Law from a recognized University with not less than ten (10) years of teaching and research experience since a becoming Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    A candidate must also have sufficient administrative experience and must have been an Associate Professor for a minimum of three years.
    He/She must also have ability to provide academic leadership.
    Candidates who have been Senior Lecturers for a minimum of six years may be considered for appointment.
     
    Areas of Specialisation:
     
    Law of Commercial Transactions, Law of Taxation, Maritime Law, Company Law, Information Technology Law and Securities Law.
     
    (ii) Associate Professor
     
    A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a Ph.D. degree in Law from a recognized University with not less than eight (8) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    A strong proof of continuing research with appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals published both locally and internationally is required in addition to evidence of ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.

    A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and a Ph.D. degree in Law from a recognized University with at least five (5) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
    Candidate must possess evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and ability to supervise post-graduate students including doctorate students in areas of expertise.
    Candidate must have been a Lecturer I for a minimum of three years.

    A candidate for this post should normally possess a good first degree and LL.M degree in Law from a recognized University. Publications in learned journals will be an added advantage.
    Candidate must also have registered for the Ph.D. programme.

    Law of Contract, Law of Intellectual Property, Shipping or Maritime Law, Taxation, Law of Banking, Insurance Law, Law of Commercial Transactions, Labour Law and Information Technology Law.
