    Social And Behavior Change Communication Director

    Roles and Responsibilities

    URC is seeking qualified candidates to lead a major potential project involving strengthening malaria case management in Nigeria. The position is based in Nigeria and is expected to be a five year assignment. The Social Behavior Change Communications (SBCC) Director will:

    • Develop comprehensive malaria communication tools and BBC campaign activities, using evidence-based theories and methodologies
    • Design community level interventions in close collaboration with the NMCP
    • Provide day-to-day management of the project’s BCC and community level activities
    • Manage the work of any research firms, production vendors, community mobilizers, and/or consultants hired by the project to assist with BCC or community level work. This includes building capacity of local implementing partners to implement quality and successful BCC work
    • Ensure that BCC materials are pre-tested and proved effective
    • Ensure that BCC materials produced are distributed and are used efficiently and by the correct target group
    • Help develop, maintain, and follow the indicators set in the workplan for BCC and community level activities
    • Work with the M&E Director to evaluate the impact of BCC materials and strategies

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master’s degree is required, preferable in behavior change, communication, or public health.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, planning, and implementing BCC efforts and/or community level activities, including communication campaigns and trainings
    • Extensive knowledge of malaria interventions and BCC strategies to increase provider and end user update and adhere to malaria control interventions
    • Oral and written English language required
    • Nigerian nationals are encouraged to apply
