    Program Coordinator

    Job Purpose

    • The Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and providing technical support to the local implementing Partners/sub-recipients ACDO and MACA in the area of partner capacity building/training development of proposals/ work plans, monitoring plans, partner compliance with signed sub-grant, sub-grant tracking and timely cash forecasting, documentation of results and learning, reporting, and sharing of information to partners for the purpose of their learning.
    • The Program Coordinator will also focus on collation of program field data and information from partners and Plan's field activities, and do all these in accordance with approved PSIPSE BLOOM+ proposal, detailed work plan, PMP, sub grant agreements and other technical documents, including Plan's standards.
    • He/she will ensure timely and accurate submission of partner's reports: narrative, M&E, Financial and other reports.

    Core Roles and Responsibilities

    • 1,200 adolescent girls (88%) and boys (20%), aged 14-16, gain critical skills and self-efficacy in a supportive community environment, have their capacities built in transferable employment-relevant skills, and make healthy life decisions/ choices through Choose a Future training.
    • Project Support Committees (PSCs) and local partners have their capacities built and carry out for sustainability of the programmes.
    • Documented changes in the lives of 10% of youth/young women who have successfully passed through BLOOM+ in the areas of school enrollment, retention, pass grades, progress to senior secondary classes, and employment.
    • Child Centred Community Development and Gender approaches adopted in all aspects of program implementation.
    • Foster Government support, evidenced in their participation in project implementation and support for youth education, trade and employment opportunities.
    • Provide Technical direction to local partners in the development of their sub-grant proposals, work plans, and
    • Work with the Implementing Partner to ensure that the most marginalized youth are selected project beneficiaries.
    • Work with Program Manager and Implementing Partners to develop modalities for selection of facilitators.
    • Work with Program Manager to assess capacity needs of local Partners and make recommendations for their training and support.
    • Provide hand-holding support to partners in the different areas including understanding of the program and contract terms, tracking of deliverables, data collation and report writing
    • Monitor Partner activities through monthly review meetings review of partner work plans and PMP and carry outside visits, along with the implementing partner to CAF classes, schools, community and other community stakeholders.
    • Ensure partners adherence to subsequent provisions, and quality
    • Work with Partners to ensure thaw timely submission of accurate, lit tor purpose monthly narrative and quantitative reports
    • Initiate the collation and full documentation of program results, challenges, and Issues
    • Support and participate in the process of State and Local government and institutional engagements by Plan,
    • Report all abnormalities or non-compliance with Plan procedures to supervisor in a timely manner.
    • Make recommendations to the Program Manager.
    • Draft monthly and quarterly reports and submit to supervisor for further review and submission to the CO
    • Be involved in the preparation of monthly budget forecasts and annual budgets.
    • Use Child Centred Community Development and gender approaches in all aspects of program delivery.
    • Work closely with Children, relevant state and Local Governments, Community traditional leadership/structures, Project Support Committees, Coalitions/networks and implementing partners.
    • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
    • Ensure adherence to Plan's Gender Equality Policy

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Experience in developing and managing various aspects of projects and plans
    • Good problem solving skills
    • Able to work independently managing local partners and logistics and timely production of accurate narrative and financial reports essential
    • Experience of collaboratively working with local Community/traditional groups, families,, local NGOs, and local government.
    • Demonstrated experience in community based interventions and participatory planning.
    • Excellent written and spoken English, and local Language(Efik)
    • Demonstrated ability to network and. liaise with NGOs, Community and Government networks and other Education actors
    • First degree in Social sciences with 2 years experience working experience
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    Challenges/Changes:

    • Base location at Project State: Cross River State(Calabar or Odukpani LGA)
    • Frequent travel to project sites
    • Frequent stakeholders meetings
    • Frequent meetings with Implementing Partners
    • May be required to work on weekends and late hours
