Position Summary
The Assistant Subsea is predominantly the Trainee of the Subsea Department. He/ she is responsible for conducting rounds and scheduled works and reports to the Senior Subsea Supervisor and the Subsea Supervisor directly.

Position Scope
The Assistant Subsea coordinates with the Drilling and Maintenance Departments during operations.
He/ she is expected to be proactive towards Pacific Drillings Safety Management System at all times.
Reporting Relationships
Direct Manager/Supervisor – Senior Subsea Supervisor and Subsea Supervisor
Functional Manager/Supervisor – N/A
Supervisory Relationships
As operations permit, occasionally:
• Deck-crew and/or drill-crew members in case they were chosen to assist with Sub Sea related work-scopes.
Qualifications and Experience
The Assistant Subsea is required to have:
• Two years offshore experience.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and oral).
• Hydraulic certificates and experience
• Preferably held the position of Mechanic previously.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Comply with Pacific Drilling Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards and applicable process documentation.
• Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.
• Conduct inspection, maintenance and repair rounds on all Subsea related equipment.
• Maintain the housekeeping onboard to the very high Pacific Drilling standards with a particular focus on escape / walking ways to remain clear of any obstruction at all times.
• Report all defects to the immediate Supervisor.
• Log daily notes and conduct an end of hitch Handover report to their respective relief.
• Completion of all mandatory training and certification requirements for Assistant Subsea as described in the Pacific Drilling offshore Training matrix.
Work Environment
Offshore rotating 28/28.
Days or nights depending upon rotation and experience (0600 hrs to 1800 hrs or 1800 hrs to 0600 hrs).
