    CORPORATE AFFAIRS DIRECTOR (Ref: 437)

    Responsibilities:

     

     

    • Lead the strategic external communications strategy with government agencies, media and related stakeholders
    • Draft and coordinate official letters and correspondences for external communications purposes in line with strategic objectives
    • Advise the Executive Committee on strategic corporate communications
    • Work closely with the Company Secretary and Legal Advisors to develop robust Company positioning and public statements
    • Work with the Business Development and Marketing team to best position the company’s Brand and its subsidiaries with the government, public sector and the NNPC, NAPIMS and Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)
    • Building a comprehensive network of internal and external contacts, decision makers, industry influencers and policy makers so as to position favorably in the business environment.

     

    Key Interfaces

     

    • Client’s Executive Committee and Client’s Legal Advisors
    • Business Development Director and subsidiaries’ MD’s and their management teams
    • State and Federal Government Agencies including NNPC, NAPIMS and NCD
    • The Media

    Qualification and Experience:

     

     

    • Master’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent
    • Qualifications in communications, business strategy and /or project management
    • Evidence of continuous professional development

     

    Minimum Experience

     

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a ssimilar senior corporate affairs roles
    • Knowledge of Nigerian Government policy and legislation relevant for the role
    • A broad understanding of key issues, controversies and regulatory constraints in Nigeria
    • Ability to interact with all levels of Directors, Executive Committees and Management
    • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
    • Impeccable English language writing skills
    • Strong intellectual skills, track record of innovated thinking, analysis and practical activity
    • Strong experience in working with the media
    • Proven ability in communications and stakeholder relations
    • Oil & gas industry experience, preferred but not essential 
    • Computer Literate
