Summary of Duties

• Assisting in using specialized technical software, global and some terrestrial positioning systems, sonars and echo sounders to provide data for the production of nautical charts and maps; Assisting in using specialized technical software and geographical information systems (GIS) to manage the integration, processing and presentation of data to clients;
• Use of specialized equipment like the Total Station for the computation of dredged sand
• Dealing with clients, internally and externally, to provide tenders and results in appropriate formats;
• Managing projects, both onshore and offshore, as vessel-based managers;
• Collaborating in working in a wide range of differing situations and applications: seabed mining/dredging; oil and gas exploration; the provision of navigational charts; dredging production chart, sand field site planning and chart and the positioning of dredging location.
• Sourcing information on seabed type, water movements and waves;
• Assisting in the provision of data for dredging positioning and planning;
• For those working onshore, responding to technical queries from onshore engineering teams and problem-solving for colleagues working offshore;
• Working as part of a team of technical specialists.

Qualification/Experience

• BSc or HND in survey or hydrography or other related qualification
• A minimum of two years experience in Surveying or related field
• At least two years experience in construction,
• At least two years experience in civil engineering or survey job
