Job Description

• Our client requires a circuit switch core network specialist for a particular project.

Background

• The Core Planning unit in Network division is responsible for the design, planning, optimization and evolution of our client’s Core switching network delivering switching voice, fixed voice and Value added services.
• The Core switching network consists of Blade clusters (BC),  Media Gateways (MGw), Transit gateways (TSC),  Signaling Border gateways (SBG), Signaling transfer points (STP), 6x consolidated user databases (CUDB) with supporting 2xHSS, 3xHLR & 2xEIR Front Ends (FE), IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS), Signaling Border controllers (SBC) and Diameter signaling controllers (DSC).
• New implementation of a Home Subscriber Server (HSS-FE), 1 Diameter signaling controllers (DSC) and Virtual Mobile Switching Systems deployment on cloud infrastructure are ongoing/planned.
• The technological evolution in switching core has introduced a new IMS switching engine and cloud infrastructure in the core architecture. This IMS engine will form the foundation of all switching services going forward for 4G & 5G, while still remaining backwards compatible with existing 2G & 3G networks.
• Our client in alignment with this critical evolution has just deployed the IMS engine in the network to initially launch VoLTE services and subsequently, a vast array of rich communication services in line with digital imperatives and drive for new revenue streams.
• In addition, critical core network modernizations, which involves the deployment of cloud based infrastructure have also been initiated.

Scope of Work:

• Circuit switch core consultant would plan, design & critique OEM proposals and properly align the delicate requirements of all planned modernizations and cloud/IMS evolution.
• The Core Network Specialist with real experience in actual deployment of Cloud and IMS solutions would support the Core team in deploying these solutions, while also developing in-house competence via structured knowledge transfer, minimizing total reliance on the OEMs with its added costs.  He would also help in the delivery of critical Cs Core 2020 projects bordering on cloud solutions.

Key Skills / Experience required include
Ericsson specific skills on the following solutions:

• Virtual MSS on Cloud based infrastructure
• vMSS and vSBC expansion on Cloud HDS
• IMS utilizing single service engine
• Virtualized DSC and HSS on BSP/cloud hardware
• TSC layered architecture with MGCF in Blade cluster and BGF in MGws
• SBC layered architecture utilizing BGF in MGWs
• Deployment of virtualized solutions on either on BSP or COTS
• LTE roaming to support both 3rd party and in-house DEA implementations

In addition, a local contract resource will be hired to help with the delivery of some key 2020 projects below:

• Traffic migration to New Switching Centres
• CUDB capacity expansion to 200million
• Media gateway capacity expansion to 1920k erlang
• Cs Core Upgrade (IP-STP  ,vDSC, VIMS, MSS,  ENM Upgrades).
