Lifting Equipment and Accessories Inspector at Amaiden Energy Nigeria

Description

• Conduct in-service inspection schedule including color coding, repairs and load testing for all the lifting gears for the project
• Responsible for the maintenance of assigned lifting equipment and accessories dedicated to the project
• Ensure that the material used and force influences in lifting equipment and gears are adequate
• Ensure the adequate management and proper storage of wire rope by checking for flexibility, fatigue, wear, abrasion, rotation and elongation,
• Testing and Certification work on all Lifting Equipment Plant and Machinery,
• Advise contractors riggers on the project on the needs for safety awareness
• Advice of different types of Cranes, Passenger lifts and Escalators, Goods Lifts, Fork Lift Trucks, MEWPS and Cherry Pickers, Lifting Structures, Anchorage Points, Lifting Beams etc as may be required.
• Verify Load monitoring equipment.
• Provide Proof Load and initial testing such as bolt torque checks.
• Periodic inspection on all cranes and lifting equipment, this includes but is not limited to drilling equipment & tools, pedestal and overhead cranes, ROV/Dive spreads, fixed lifting equipment, lifeboats and life raft launch and recovery systems and loose lifting equipment.
• Make use of contractors and ensure their compliance with Company requirements

Job Requirements

• HND or B.Sc in Engineering or Science
• Member of Lifting Equipment Engineers Association
• 5-10 year working experience in similar role
• Lifting and Hoisting Training & Certification
• HSE Level III Certification
• Journey Management Training & Certification on lifting inspection.
• Conversant with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment (LOLER), PUWER and Occupational Health & Safety at Work.
• Good knowledge of DIN 15030 (Lifting Equipment; Acceptance Testing of Crane Installations; Principles); NORSOK R-002 (Lifting Equipment); DIN 15400 (Lifting hooks: materials, mechanicals, mechanical properties, Lifting capacity and stresses.
