    Laboratory Analyst

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Laboratory analysts set up test equipment in the lab to complete specific procedures.
    • Laboratory analysts perform complex chemical tests on materials and samples as requested or assigned.
    • They diligently log and analyze the data revealed by lab tests
    • Laboratory analysts perform maintenance on lab equipment by making calibrations, cleaning equipment, replacing parts, and otherwise keeping equipment functioning properly. They also troubleshoot lab equipment to spot problems and report issues to the lab supervisor.
    • Laboratory analysts follow safety standards and protocols at all times in regards to safe handling of materials and wearing proper protective equipment.
    • Follow standard routine and non-routine laboratory procedures and test methods
    • Taking corrective actions when results deviate from the standards
    • Attending to SON and NAFDAC on official visits
    • Reporting of inconsistencies, malfunctions or variations from prototype
    • Provides written explanations of flaws
    • Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks

    Requirements

    Competence requirements:

    • Knowledge of GMP, SOP, ISO, Sanitation, chemical safety, pest control, food allergens plus kosher requirements
    • Strong industry experience
    • Excellent technical report writing and oral communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Detail orientation
    • Strategic thinking
    • Time managements skills
    • Confident independent abilities and team – focused mentality
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills

    MIN REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    3 year(s) working experience as a laboratory analyst

    MIN QUALIFICATION

    Bachelor's Degree/HND in chemistry, food science or microbiology, or any related field

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Membership of a professional body will be an added advantage.
