    Carpenter

    Job Summary

    • A carpenter with Hilton Hotels and Resorts is expected to construct, repair, maintain, and dismantle structures, furniture, woodwork and otherrelated items such as: doors, folding walls, windows, ceilings, and hardwarethroughout the facility to ensure an attractive and well-maintained facility.
    • As an Engineering Team Member, you would also be called when needed to multi-task  in other sections.

    What will I be Doing?

    • A facilities carpenter will be responsible forperforming the following tasks to the highest standards:
    • Visually inspect/diagnose problems, take measurements and make necessary adjustments to items such as door hardware to ensure safe smooth operation of guestrooms, public space and back of the house facilities.
    • Maintain and repair doors, furniture, hardware, windows, hang art work and headboards etc.
    • Perform  shop work to repair or build furniture. Identify types and grades of wood, measure and be familiar with hardware materials available to the carpentry trade.
    • Multitask in other sections when called upon.

    • A carpenter serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Hotel, serving our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow.
    • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
    • At least 1 year of related work experience
    • Good product knowledge of lumber (i.e. grade and types), hardware and other related supplies.
    • Knowledge of local building codes.
    • Skill in use of power and hand tools, such as planner, table saw, drill press, chisels, rasps, etc.
    • Basic English language communication skills in order to read blueprints and mechanical drawings communicate with co-workers and fully comprehend job assignments.
    • Basic trade mathematical skills in order to calculate quantities of materials.
    • Ability to multi-task in other sections when required.
