    Programme Officer Inclusive Education Programme (IEP)

    Job Details

    • Sightsavers are happy to offer an excellent opportunity to join the organisation and enhance the quality of the IEP, with a focus on the education of people with disabilities. The role will also ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated to the highest possible standards.
    • Working with Sightsavers partners the post holder will identify organisations with whom we can work to achieve strategic objectives of ensuring people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities, as well as building and supporting longer term partner relationships. Support to partners is given by disseminating information about Sightsavers work, promoting shared learning and collaboration, and identifying their technical and capacity building needs.
    • The post holder will work with the UK Disability Development programme team and other consortia members to coordinate activities and sharing of lessons learned. All aspects of the programme cycle will be managed by this role, as well as liaising and working with the Senior Global Technical Lead (Education), assisting partners with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditure of project financial resources and ensuring partners submit timely and accurate financial returns.
    • The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in social sciences, education or development studies (Bachelors or above, or similar), will have experience in inclusive education programme skills assessment, knowledge of current issues and best practices in disability and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Familiarity with relevant national legislation and policies and an extensive background implementing programmes with the disability sector is also required.
