    Communications Consultant

    Description:

    Job Summary: The consultant will develop communications materials (i.e. success stories, infographics, photo stories, short video clips and final graphic design work for other related documents) that will showcase achievements and lessons learned on the State Accountability and Quality Improvement Project (SAQIP) in Gombe State overall and within each of the three primary outcome areas.  The consultant will also help finalize the communications strategy.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Desk review of relevant program documents and draft communication strategy
    • Conduct field visits and interact with health facility providers, LGA PHC department leads and SPHCDA with a view to collecting information to showcase the unique interventions
    • Identify projects, stories and messages that are engaging, motivating and high quality, and which communicate impact and showcase the work.
    • Develop list of communications products to be developed/finalized (3 overall and at least 5 per primary outcome area totalling 18 products)
    • Develop SAQIP related communications materials: success stories, infographics, photo stories, short video clips, etc.
    • Finalize graphic design content of materials developed by knowledge management consultant (i.e. briefs, case studies, lessons learned)
    • Coordinate all reviews, editing and translating of agreed upon communication materials
    • Contribute to identifying new and creative ways to enhance the visibility and outreach of the SAQIP Project as well as facilitate the delivery of inspiring and attractive multimedia content about the project.

    Deliverables:

    • Develop at least 3 communication materials for each of the SAQIP primary outcome areas and 5 for the project overall (18 in total) detailing achievements, best practices and lessons learned.  Possible topics include on (but are not limited to):
    • SAQIP Quality Improvement Approaches
    • Increasing utilization of MNCH services – The Mothers Group Model
    • Strengthening community structures for development
    • Human Interest Stories
    • Effective Community Resource Mobilisation
    • Birth Preparedness Scheme
    • Community Scorecard in Practic
    • Strengthening Ward Development Committees
    • Ensure all developed materials are reviewed, approved and finalized by SAQIP team and Pact Nigeria senior management
    • Final report of consultancy

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience (e.g. Social Sciences, International Development, Business, Development Studies) or 7 years of relevant professional experience and a master’s degree.
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in implementing and managing strategic communication plans within the international development sector is a plus.
    • Knowledge of international development theory, practices, and issues. Advanced knowledge of communications and media for international development programs
    • Proven ability to manage publications from conceptualization to completion
    • Possesses positive attitude, self-motivated, independent, can deliver results under stress and timely manner, team worker.
