• The Post of Director, Works and Services of Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia is vacant, and the Governing Council of the Polytechnic has approved the process for the appointment of a new one to fill the vacant post.
• Applications are therefore, invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant post with immediate effect.

Responsibilities
The Director Works and Services is responsible to the Rector for the:

• Overall control of the Works and Maintenance Department;
• Formulating divisional strategies to achieve the institutional goals;
• Planning and controlling the technical activities of the Works Department;
• Advising the Rector on the acquisition and maintenance of all fixed assets of the Polytechnic;
• Preparing the Works Department’s budget and budgetary controls;
• Keeping inventory of the Polytechnics Assets and taking responsibility for their maintenance, security and up keep;
• Supervision of all staff in the works Department; and
• Performing other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• By direct appointment of a registered Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Architect and Builder who possesses the qualifications for the Post of Chief Engineer, Chief Quantity Surveyor, Chief Architecture or Chief Builder plus at least 15 years of post-qualification and 12 years cognate experience.
• By direct appointment of a holder of a Master's Degree in relevant fields with 12 years’ post qualification and 9 years cognate experience.
• Candidates should have at least twelve (12) years cognate experiences preferably in an Institution of higher learning or other related organizations
• Membership of relevant professional body is a MUST
• Evidence of Community Service and knowledge of I.C.T are necessary
• Candidates must not be more than Fifty-five (55) years of age and thirty (30) years in service at the time of this application.

Conditions of Service

• The appointment is on tenure basis for an initial period of four (4) years renewable after satisfactory performance for another final four (4) years.
• Salary; Consolidated Scale of CONTIDESS 15.
