How do you feel when you get praised for doing something well? How do you feel when it is the other way round?
You see, one thing that will make you a good manager is how much responsibility you are willing to accept either during success or failure. Bad leaders trade blames and run away from accepting responsibility for their teams while good leaders accept and know that the buck stops at their desk and therefore will do everything to make sure that no one person on the team fails at their duty.
However, choosing not to accept responsibility or always shifting blame is not a good thing.
When you build a culture of accepting responsibility, you tend to put in your best as you will ensure you do all in your jurisdiction to ensure all works well. Go the extra mile. When it does not turn out well, take feedback well and see ways you could have performed better.
So, learn to look inwards first.
