    Business Development Manager (Additives)

    Departments: Additives

    Job Summary

    • The business development manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with customers on behalf of the company and for actively prospecting for new accounts and maximizing sales potential with existing customers.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Generate new business leads, achieving KPI's and the ability to deliver on good commercial results.
    • Develop good relationships with clients on all levels, maintaining a high standard when providing quotations and tenders.
    • Ensure that targets are achieved.
    • Market research.
    • Formulate business development strategies.
    • Partnerships assessment and development
    • Ability to work under pressure and drive the business to the next level.
    • Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.
    • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
    • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
    • Identify and resolve client concerns.
    • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
    • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback to Management.
    • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from client/field visits.
    • Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts/tenders.
    • Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
    • Develop and participate in the implementation of company sales/marketing plans as needed.
    • Follow-up for collection of payment.
    • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Educational Requirement and Experience

    • Required: 7-10 years’ experience within the Oil and Gas Industry
    • B.Sc./HND in Industrial Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or related field.

    Competence/Skills required:

    • Should be a natural salesman
    • Should be both sales and operationally inclined
    • Should be comfortable working with Microsoft office applications
    • Self-motivated individual and of High integrity
    • Excellent relationship building skills
    • Good verbal, written and visual/presentation communication skills
    • Able to think ‘outside the box’
    • Must have ability to handle multiple responsibilities -- to work across many accounts, projects, and/or issues and prioritize effectively.
    • Have strong relationships with potential clients within this sector
    • The ability to organize workload effectively.
    • Have the ability to work as part of a team
