    Category Buyer (Fresh)

    Job Description

    • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
    • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
    • Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
    • Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
    • Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
    • Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
    • Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
    • Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
    • Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
    • Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
    • Works closely with sales team to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products to promote sales opportunities.
    • Leads a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions.
    • Coordinating the activities of the FRESH buying team
    • Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with vendors
    • Developing and providing the appropriate product mix for the execution of the organization's strategy
    • Ensuring constant availability of products at the right quantity, quality, and prices
    • Work with other departments (Operations, Finance, Marketing, IT) to drive sales growth for the FRESH category
    • Drive customer footfalls and sales in the entire store by driving footfalls in the FRESH category section
    • Installing processes for FRESH buying team activities

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field
    • Minimum 4 years' experience in product or category management.

    Category Buyer (Non-Food)

    Job Description

    • As the Grocery Non Food Category Buyer you are responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal. Relationships with vendors and product range management will also be part of your duties.
    • You must have excellent category manager must have extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. You must have a commercial mind-set and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles. Exceptional communication skills are also key for category managers.
    • The goal is to increase sales and profitability of business to drive sustainable growth.
