    Financial Controller

    Detailed Job Description

    • The Financial Controller will be responsible for owning and managing the implementation of the financial strategy and control framework for the company.
    • Established track record of implementing viable commercial growth strategies, instituting operational
    • Overseeing and managing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with the company’s Finance policy, IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal control/audit requirements
    • Optimize the management of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance the company’s cash position
    • Overseeing the company’s budgeting process & ensuring full implementation and monitoring of the agreed budget
    • Developing and implementing systems to ensure the collection, reporting and analysis of performance data for internal and external accountability and performance improvement
    • Providing development opportunities for direct reports that challenge and expand their capability
    • Providing leadership that inspires others to succeed and develop, and proactively share experience, knowledge and ideas
    • Establishing an environment where the Finance function engages effectively with other groups in a way that ensures both internal customer needs and those of external stakeholders are understood and met
    • Ensuring that performance objectives are clearly defined for all job roles within the team and that all staff members are evaluated against agreed performance objectives at pre-defined periods set by the HR function
    • Provide business analysis and decision support to the CEO through both proactive and reactive performance analysis and by offering advice on cost management strategies as required

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum of university degree or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution
    • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in a Finance Function
    • An MBA or Business related postgraduate degree would be an added advantage
    • Experience in agribusiness is an added advantage
    • Possession of a recognized professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA)
    • Excellent communication, business presentation, persuasion, and analytical skills
    • Hands on experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting

    Chief Operating Officer

    • The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the organisations operational and administrative functions.
    • The role leads the implementation of the organisations strategic goals around service delivery and performance by driving quality, managing and executing process development initiatives.

    Desired Attributes:

    • Established track record of implementing viable commercial growth strategies, instituting operational controls, and maximizing business efficiency
    • In-depth knowledge and expertise on end-to-end manufacturing operations – previous plant management experience is critical
    • Ability to quickly understand the primary drivers of a variety of businesses, diagnose problems, and think through solutions while always focusing on the need for optimal returns on investments
    • Strong communication skills and ability to influence and earn trust of the CEO and senior management
    • Ability to listen to and interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds
    • Highly motivated and energetic, with collegial and sharing work style
    • Adaptable, resourceful and strong work ethics
    • Entrepreneurial, hands-on and problem-solving attitude suited for working with few subordinates or external intermediaries

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Relevant undergraduate degree, with preference given to candidates with an MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Operations, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management
    • An MBA or Business related postgraduate degree would be an added advantage
    • Excellent understanding of operations in the food industry
    • Minimum of 10 years work experience in operation management in the food & beverage sector
    • Experience in agribusiness is an added advantage
    • Experience serving on Boards of Director
