    Cash Officer

    Duty Station:      Maiduguri, Borno State

    Position Overview:
    Cash Officer will directly report to Cash Deputy Program Manager and will play a key role in implementing the PROTECT IDP response in North-Eastern Nigeria. From 2015 to 2017, ACF will implement a multi-sectoral emergency response program to support IDPs in settlement and camps, and most vulnerable host households in a bid to contribute to the eradication of extreme hunger, malnutrition and poverty in Northern Nigeria.

    Specific Objectives: 

    • Provide support to the Cash Deputy Program Manager to implement the program successfully.
    • Facilitate program coordination and monitoring and evaluation of the FSL activities.
    • Facilitate community mobilisation activities to support targeting and registration of beneficiaries and improve FSL/Cash Base Interventions knowledge, attitudes and practices.
    • Represent ACF externally in relevant LGA level forums and technical working groups.
    • Ensure the proper HR management of the field based Cash team.

    Qualifications:
     Bachelors Degree or Higher Diploma in Accountancy and food security related field e.g. Agronomics, Agriculture, Animal health, Agricultural engineering, Development Studies etc.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Professional, good organizational capacity, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive.
    • Excellent team, budget and project management and representation competencies.
    • Previous experience with Cash, food security and livelihoods programming.
    • Three years relevant work experience.
    • Capacity to supervise a team.
    • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
    • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
    • Fluency in Hausa, Kanuri and English.
    • Commitment to ACF mission, values and policy.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    •  Previous experience managing cash based interventions (i.e. cash for work, cash transfers or cash vouchers).
    • Previous team management and activity planning experience.
    • Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy.
    • Previous experience with ACF.
    • Previous donor programming experience (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, SIDA).
    • Analytical capacity.
    • Good relational qualities.
    • Good knowledge of  techniques and agricultural/animal health production systems.
    • Good knowledge of implementing projects.
    • Capacity to write high quality reports.

    LGA Technical Advisor

    Duty Station:     Dutse, Jigawa State

    Position Overview:
    To strengthen the capacity of the Local Government Area (LGA) nutrition focal person or team (as designated by the LGA) in management, delivery, and advocacy of cost-effective malnutrition prevention and treatment interventions (interventions include – Infant & Young Child Feeding, Community Management of Acute Malnutrition , Maternal & Child Health Weeks).

    Specific Objectives: 

    • Support the assigned LGA in nutrition program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
    • Support and coordinate micronutrient supplementation and maternal, newborn and child health weeks.
    • Coordination and support to health office of LGA.
    • Strengthen technical and advocacy capacity at LGA level.

    Qualifications:
     Bachelor of Science with a major in Nutrition or Bachelor of Nutrition ; graduate degree in a similar field a plus.
    Health / Public Health / Nutrition / Higher Diploma or equivalent.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Experience of emergency nutrition work and the design and implementation of feeding programmes (ideally IYCF, CTC/CMAM), including IYCF monitoring and evaluation.
    • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff.
    • Proven experience and ability in report writing.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathise with all beneficiaries and their careers.
    • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions.
    • Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment.
    • Commitment to and understanding of ACF’s aims, values and principles.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English and Hausa.

    • Training in adult education/learning and effective training approaches.

    Radio Operator

    Duty Station:     Monguno,Maiduguri, Borno State

    Position Overview:
    This Position is created in the Logistics department to ease the communication link between all ACF bases country wide, between driver vehicles and the bases, between driver vehicles themselves and with security operatives if need be. The position of the radio operator is of high essence especially in situations where other means of communication are down.

    Specific Objectives: 

    • To Perform Radio operator duties and responsibilities Which includes:
    • Be focal point for VHF and HF communication between the base and teams on field missions according to needs and SOPs.
    • Monitor the ACF frequencies and clear them from non-authorized users.
    • Keep the radio logbook (location, date and hour of important messages or events) as indicated on SOPs.
    • Transmit / relay messages between teams / ACF Nigeria bases when signal is low.
    • Take messages and transmit them to the appropriate person in the office. 
    • Dispatch according to the needs and register the loan of VHF radio handsets
    • Ensure all security advisories from the field co are immediately relayed to the staff and immediately report sensitive/security related matters to the supervisor or Field Coordinator.
    • Report any disrespect of SOPs from any staff/team to the Field Coordinator.
    • Training new staff/visitors on the use of VHF and HF radios.
    • Ensure all VHF/HF base and hand held stations are in good working condition. - Ensure maintenance of all equipment : batteries, acid, connections, tosmètre.

    Qualifications:
    Completed Secondary education in an accredited academic institution.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum two years of relevant professional experience on office operation/assistance and related experiences.
    • Good knowledge and working experience with HF and VHF Radios.
    • Flexible in terms of working hours
    • Excellent command of spoken and written English. 

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Previous experience in INGO at the same level of position.
    • Knowledge about radio installation/basic maintenance, electricity or any technical field.

    Public Health Prromotion and Non Food Items Distribution Officer

    Duty Station:     Maiduguri, Borno State
    Position Overview:
    The Public Health Promotion and Non-food items distribution officer will be working under the leadership and guidance of the WASH Deputy Program Manager and is accountable for the overall implementation of the Public health promotion and Non-Food Items distribution of the WASH project.

    Specific Objectives:

    • Overall supervision of Public Health Promotion and Non-food items distribution activities following AAH’s local strategy and International Guidelines.
    • Train and build the capacity of staffs and partners.
    • Coordinate with internal staffs, and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
    • Supervise and manage staffs under your responsibility.

    Qualifications:
     Bachelors Degree or a higher Diploma in Public health, sociology, rural development, and other related fields.

    Public Health Prromotion and Non Food Items Distribution Assistants

    Duty Station:     Maiduguri, Borno State
    Position Overview:
    The HP and NFI assistant will be working under the supervision of the HP & NFI Officer. He/she will assist the HP &NFI officer to undertake hygiene promotion related activities and non-food items distribution to affected populations.

    Specific Objectives: 

    • Assist the PHP & NFI Officer in context assessment and developing materials for hygiene promotion.
    • Carry out safe hygiene promotion and mobilize members of the beneficiary communities.
    • Assist the HP & NFI Officer to carry out NFI distribution.

    Qualifications:
     Diploma in Public health, sociology, rural development, and other related fields.
