    Associate Consultant

    Manager: Senior Consultant, Security Risk Consulting

    Job Description

    • The Associate Consultant is a client facing consultant who will support clients and other team members to deliver end to end risk consulting services including crisis management, business continuity and related risk and resilience consulting across the West Africa region.
    • The associate consultant role is an entry level position; the individual will be introduced to the broader security and risk consulting opportunities at Control Risks in a structured manner with the appropriate mentoring available.
    • The Associate Consultant will be heavily involved in proposal development, the peer review process and increasingly be capable of independent working on client facing tasks.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Work with team members on crisis and security consulting engagements of diverse scope and complexity consistent with industry best practice and drawing on personal experiences. Specifically, with guidance from senior team members:

    Security Risk Consulting:

    • The associate consultant will be expected to support security reviews and audits, security risk assessments, security planning, risk management and other similar tasks.
    • The incumbent will also be required to undertake broader crisis and security consulting tasks as directed.

    Task Management:

    • Support consultancy assignments
    • Participate in client meetings
    • Ensure that practices, policies, strategy and services are fully aligned with client need
    • Support maintenance of client relationships; act in conjunction with consultants and key account managers
    • Maintain time and expense records to ensure accurate invoicing in accordance with company procedure

    Task Delivery:

    • Delivery of tasks for clients on time, on budget, to the highest standards
    • The role will involve significant; travel to client sites and Control Risks offices across the region
    • From time to time the role may require consultants to support in crisis or emergency evacuation situations, sometimes requiring short-notice and/or extended deployment to the field.

    Preferred:

    • Management consultancy
    • Project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2) and expertise in their application
    • Current standards and practices used security risk management
    • Experience working, or consulting to one or more of the following sectors: oil and gas; engineering; manufacturing; construction; power and utilities; infrastructure.
    • Experience working or living in several regions in Nigeria
    • Languages (French)
    • Commercial skills.

    Qualifications and Specialist Skills
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Educated to Degree level or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Appropriate professional membership
    • ISPS Ship Security officer or Chief Security Officer

    HR Manager, West Africa

    Manager: Country Operations Director and dotted line to HR Manager, Europe & Africa

    Job Purpose

    • Responsible for delivering a consistent and credible HR service to the business, providing advice and actioning requests.
    • Provides support to the business across a range of HR matters and projects, taking ownership for delivery where required.
    • This is a demanding role that requires a proactive and professional approach and the ability to work well under pressure, whilst maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy.

    Tasks and Responsibilities
    Generalist HR:

    • Build strong partnerships with local management team to effectively leverage knowledge, expertise and systems to broker and deliver HR solutions that add value to the business.
    • Establish and continually enhance the Control Risks "Local Content Plan to ensure various regulations and requirements are adhered to and surpassed
    • Manage any employee relations issues and contractual and employment issues, escalating where necessary to the relevant Management and HR Manager, EurAf.
    • Provide guidance and coach managers on a range of people issues.
    • Work with HR Manager, EurAf on all issues relating to international moves, including package construction and working through taxation and immigration issues.
    • As required, implement business change initiatives, including redundancies, restructures and change of terms and conditions where appropriate.
    • Support the delivery of the HR calendar i.e. performance management cycle, salary & bonus review.
    • Work with Management Team and London based Europe & Africa team to understand business strategy and requirements to support in delivery of HR priorities including ad hoc projects.
    • Perform other duties as required

    Recruitment:

    • Advise and manage the recruitment process for key staff members

    Operational HR:

    • Accountable for all HR Operations processes ensuring a great customer experience by delivering an efficient and accurate service
    • Identify practical solutions in reviewing and recommending process& policy improvements, ensuring business requirements are met as well as HR best practice.
    • Oversee all employment processes managed within the local Operations team i.e. employment screening, immigration, work permits, visa's, file maintenance, letter production.

    Knowledge and Experience
    Essential:

    • Proven experience of operating successfully in generalist HR role in a fast-moving, professional and commercial environment.
    • Strong employee relations experience with the ability to offer commercial solutions.
    • Proven experience of managing a broad range of operational HR issues including employee relations and international moves.
    • Knowledge and application of Nigerian employment law, regulations and compliance.
    • Experience of coaching managers on the full range of generalist HR areas, including performance management, remuneration and organisational change.
    • Evidence of tracking and improving service performance in a fast-paced customer-focused environment
    • Previous experience managing stakeholders at all levels.
    • Previous experience using HR Information Systems
    • Nigerian Citizenship or ability to live and work in Nigeria without restriction.

    Preferred:

    • Experience of working in a professional services / consulting organisation(s)
    • Experience of working in a matrix structure
    • Experience of implementing Local Content Initiatives
    • Experience of working within an international environment
