The Conversation Africa is looking for a West Africa Audience Development Manager. 

Based in Lagos, the Audience Development Manager will develop and implement outreach strategies to build audiences in West Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Plugged-in social media native who is excited about emojis, memes and internet culture
• Excellent familiarity with social media publishing tools
• Strong regional media contacts
• Editorial judgement
• Three to five years experience in online media including social media, preferably in an editorial environment
• A relevant qualification (digital marketing, online media, communications or other relevant field)
• Knowledge of special-interest or niche markets in a multi-platform media company, content distribution and partnership development
• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• The ability to produce high-quality written material in English.
• Good sense of the news and strong grasp of audiences
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability to produce social media output.
• Time-management and organisational skills
• Flexibility and the ability to act quickly in a dynamic and fast-moving organisation
• Creativity to communicate in different ways
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to form and maintain relationships through teamwork and networking
