ICM Group are sourcing an experienced Survey Engineer with strong offshore survey skills and hand on knowledge of positioning systems to support the subsea mapping, pipeline checks and offshore builds. The Survey Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our offshore survey campaigns, working closely with the team to deliver high quality geospatial intelligence.
Candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and managing offshore survey operations using advanced positioning, sonar and navigation systems, working closely with the team to ensure seamless data acquisition and integrity with the following goals:
Ensure exact positioning for offshore structures, pipelines and subsea assets.
Provide data that helps Engineers design, plan and execute construction or inspection tasks safely and efficiently.
Validate and process survey data to meet industry standards and client requirements.
Deliver precise, reliable and high-resolution survey data to support engineering, geophysical and construction activities in marine environments.
To deliver precise spatial data that supports engineering, construction and mapping projects.
Accurate data collection using specialised equipment such as GPS, sonar and LiDAR to gather geospatial and hydrographic data.
Experience required:
Survey systems and sensors: Multibeam echosounders, side scan sonars, sub-bottom profilers, single beam systems.
Hands on experience with Norbit WingHead MBES B44, Pipe Tracker TSS440 and Gen6-grade positioning systems.
Skilled in deploying and integrating Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) such as iXblue and Applanix with GNSS for real time positioning.
Navigation and Positioning (Real time subsea positioning and monitoring tools)
Familiarity with Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs), USBL/LBL systems and acoustic tracking technologies.
Ability to perform sensor alignment, patch tests and calibration routines.
Experienced in EIVA NaviPac for navigation planning and execution.
Competent in interfacing with NaviScan, QINSy, and Hypack for survey control and data logging.
Capable of integrating survey data with GIS platforms and exporting metadata for post-processing.
Offshore deployment of ROVs, AUVs and survey platforms.
Experience working alongside ROV pilots, vessel crew and offshore engineers.
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Proven years of offshore survey experience in oil and gas/subsea infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with water column data extraction, feature detection and backscatter analysis.
Candidate must have the ability to generate detailed survey logs, QC reports and metadata documentation, be responsible for maintaining equipment calibration records and operation checklist and ensuring compliance with project specifications and international survey standards.
ICM Group are seeking a highly skilled Hydrographic Data Processor with expertise in advanced marine survey systems and software for a temporary assignment in West Africa.
The Data Processor will be responsible for processing and interpreting complex marine survey data collected using INS (Inertial Navigation Systems), DVL (Doppler Velocity Logs), Multibeam echo sounders and other subsea sensors ensuring high quality deliverables for subsea mapping, pipeline inspection and offshore construction support.
Candidate is to be familiar with Norbit Winghead (high resolution multi beam system), Real Time Subsea Positioning and Monitoring tool, detecting buried pipelines with Pipe Tracker TSS440, can interpret magnetic anomaly data and integrate with navigation data, familiarity with Gen6 grade positioning system and their integration with survey platforms.
Software Expertise:
Experience required with INS such as iXblue, Applanix and DVL.
Ability to integrate INS/DVL data with GNSS for accurate positioning.
Proficient in data processing techniques including error correction, drift analysis and alignment of navigation datasets.
Skilled in editing raw navigation and sensor data in Navi Edit.
Familiar with cleaning and validating multibeam data in Navi Model.
Capable of generating 3D models, bathymetric charts, and volume calculations.
Experience with EIVA workflows (sensor calibration, patch test processing, tide correction, sound velocity profile integration)
Experience with Multibeam Echosounder Data that is processing data from Norbit Wing Head MBES B44
Understanding beam angle, swath width and backscatter analysis, proficient in data cleaning.
Familiarity with water column data extraction and feature detection.
Experience required:
Generating QC reports, metadata logs and final deliverables.
Exporting of data to GIS platforms.
Working together with the offshore survey team.
