Job Description

• The Laboratory Storekeeper / Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing the inventory of all the laboratory units at 54gene.

Essential Functions

• Daily Routine
• Work closely with the procurement team to order and receive lab consumables and equipment
• Verify all requested items as they arrive and check quality and conformity against documentation
• Compare purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes with quantity of items supplied
• Disburse requested items / consumables to the various laboratory units
• Ensure store requisition form is signed by designated lab staff on collection of item(s)
• Ensure FIFO principle is adhered to
• Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs
• Maintain lab inventory levels
• Work closely with Lab Managers to replenish each unit's depleted stock
• Prepare monthly inventory reports
• Communicate with departmental managers to ensure items are replenished and maintain proper levels
• Maintain clear and organized records to ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly

Qualifications
Education & Certifications

• Relevant degree in any science discipline.

Experience:

• 2 years post-graduate experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain is mandatory
• Proven experience as store keeper or inventory management is an added advantage
• Basic understanding of lab equipment, consumables and reagents is an added advantage
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
• Adherence to time and priority management
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work with Google Suite
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Excel is desirable

Job Description

• The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of designated 54gene’s COVID Mobile Labs.

Roles and Responsibilities
Daily Routine:

• Ensure COVID samples are received properly, accessioned and registered on the sample receipt log
• Ensure that sample rejection and acceptance criteria are adhered to at all times
• Supervise lab personnel with procedure and quality of sample testing
• Assist in sample processing as required
• Track sample processing and give feedback to Provider/Consumer Account Managers
• Ensure prompt TAT based on sample processing SOPs; from receipt of samples to result authorization and subsequent release
• Track and manage COVID lab inventory
• Handle validation of Personal Protective Equipment needed in the Laboratory
• Flag mobile lab issues to the appropriate authority
• Draft daily and weekly laboratory report(s) of designated mobile lab(s)
• Daily update of Stakeholders COVID dashboard
• Liaise with State Government Officials and other Stakeholders where need arises.

Qualifications
Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science
• Must have a valid license to practice

Experience:

• 2 years postgraduate experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in usage of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Adherence to time and priority management
• Experience in COVID-19 testing is an added advantage.
