    Storekeeper

    Job Description

    • A storekeeper isresponsible for managing inventory, which includes receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and materials.
    • Key duties include maintaining accurate stock records, organizing storage areas, performing regular audits, and coordinating with other departments to ensure stock levels are adequate but not excessive.
    • This role often requires attention to detail, physical fitness, and strong organizational skills.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Inventory management: Receive, inspect, record, and store incoming stock;monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking;and ensure accurate stock records.
    • Receiving and issuing: Implement procedures for receiving and issuing goods, checking requisition documents, and ensuring the right items are delivered to the correct recipients.
    • Stock organization: Organize and store items in an orderly and accessible manner, manage stock rotation (e.g., using the "first in, first out" method), and dispose of surplus or expired goods.
    • Record-keeping: Maintain accurate records of all stock transactions and perform regular physical inventory counts to reconcile with book balances.
    • Reporting: Generate inventory reports for management and report damaged or discrepant items.
    • Coordination: Work with procurement to initiate purchase requisitions and coordinate with sales and other teams for stock replenishment.
    • Safety and security: Ensure the store is kept clean, organized, and secure, following health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
