    Senior Freight Officer

    Description

    We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Freight Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of freight transportation for DCP. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics and experience in managing freight operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and oversee freight transportation activities, including negotiating rates with carriers and ensuring on-time delivery.
    • Monitor and track shipments to ensure they reach their destination in a timely manner.
    • Analyze transportation costs, routes, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with freight carriers, customs officials, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to freight transportation.
    • Manage and resolve any issues or disruptions that may occur during the transportation process.
    • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to optimize logistics processes and maximize efficiency.
    • Prepare and present reports on freight transportation activities and performance to senior management.

    Qualifications:

    Customer Fleet Officer

    Job Summary:

    The Customer Fleet Officer at Dangote Group will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of cement products to customers, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the loading and dispatch of cement products to customers according to their orders and delivery schedules.
    • Ensure accurate recording of the dispatch details, including quantities, vehicle information, and delivery times.
    • Provide regular updates to customers on the status of their deliveries and address any concerns or issues raised.
    • Monitor the performance of the fleet and drivers, and take appropriate actions to optimize efficiency and productivity.
    • Collaborate with the sales team and logistics department to ensure smooth coordination of delivery operations.

    Requirements

    Deputy General Manager (DGM), Power Plant - Cement Industry

    Description

    Reporting tthe Plant Director, the Deputy General Manager is responsible tgive support tthe overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all power plant activities.

    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Participate in the development of overall power plant strategy, policies and procedures
    • Ensure power plant activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations
    • Manage and mentor the power plant team and ensure resources are allocated effectively
    • Develop, implement and manage power plant budgets
    • Conduct regular safety audits and adhere to safety guidelines
    • Ensure effective utilization of state-of-the-art equipment to generate power
    • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders
    • Responsible for major overhauls of the boilers/turbines as per recommended schedule to ensure the reliability/availability of the plant with operating agencies systematically.
    • Forecast Power requirements and facilitate operational requirements across the Company from time to time.
    • Train the workforce to the job execution with on-site job orientation with appropriate agencies for sustained operations
    • Coordinate with OEMs for maintenance activities of major equipment.
    • Mitigate operational risks at all areas and ensure high degree of safety in boiler operation.
    • Optimise the power generation cost with appropriate controls and measures with optimum SHR and load factors.
    • Plan and maintain all consumables required for operation through respective units and keep operational costs under budget.
    • Apply technological developments in power generation and improve power plant operations.
    • Optimise costs of generation by effective utilization of all resources including AFR.
    • Apply innovation and best practices in thermal power plants.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum of 18 years of experience in maintaining Instrumentation in Gas Turbine based power plants.
    • Good understanding of Instrumentation philosophies, Instrumentation Standards, Engineering Standards, and regulations.
    • Familiarity with various types of Instrumentation and design philosophy of complete package, different DCS systems, and Control Logics.
    • Knowledge of power plant processes, Governor control, Turbine control systems, Fire and Gas Detection system, communication systems, and Integration of different control systems.
    • Experience in Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
    • Proficiency in safety requirements for job execution and permit system.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools like SAP.
    • Creativity and ability tthink outside the box.

    Deputy General Manager (DGM), HEMM - Cement Industry

    Description

    Are you an experienced leader in the Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy General Manager (DGM) in the HEMM division of our Cement Industry at Dangote Group.

    As the DGM, you will play a crucial role in the overall management and operations of the HEMM department. Your friendly, approachable attitude will contribute to a positive work environment and effective collaboration within the team.

    To excel in this role, you should have a solid background in the Cement Industry and expertise in Heavy Earth Moving Machinery. Developing and implementing systems to manage and control HEMM across the plants in the DCP.

    • Developing and implementing HEMM metrics to be used to identify gaps in productivity.
    • Ensuring that all HEMM operators are properly trained, have the requisite certification and are competent to operate the equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Monitoring HEMM maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal asset performance and minimal downtime.
    • Ensuring that all relevant administrative documentation, such as maintenance logs, is complete and accurate.
    • Ensuring that HEMM procurement is carried out in a timely manner.
    • Participating in the planning and execution of projects.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
    • Understanding of HEMM technology and best practices for their maintenance and repair.
    • Knowledge of safety standards and measures in relation to HEMM operations.
    • In-depth experience in project management and project planning.
    • Ability to manage a diverse team effectively, and function as a collaborative team player.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Cement Industry will be an added advantage
    • Strong organization skills with a problem-solving attitude.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to provide coaching and mentoring
    • Must be ready to provide leadership
