    Science and Biology Teacher

    Job Purpose

    • To deliver high-quality teaching in Science and Biology, equipping students with strong scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking abilities in alignment with the Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE curricula.
    • The teacher will inspire curiosity about the natural world while preparing students for both internal and external examinations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach General Science (lower years) and Biology (upper years) across assigned classes, following the Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE syllabi.
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, integrating both theory and hands-on experiments.
    • Prepare students thoroughly for Checkpoint and IGCSE Biology examinations.
    • Conduct practical sessions and supervise laboratory activities safely.
    • Assess, record, and report student progress in line with school and examination board standards.
    • Foster inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
    • Create an inclusive, stimulating, and well-managed classroom environment.
    • Integrate ICT and modern teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
    • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
    • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and extracurricular science activities.
    • Support school-wide initiatives, science fairs, and competitions.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Science Education, or related field.
    • Teaching qualification (PGDE, TRCN registration) is an added advantage.
    • Experience teaching Cambridge Checkpoint Science and IGCSE Biology is required.
    • Proven track record of successful examination preparation and student achievement.
    • Strong subject knowledge and practical laboratory skills.
    • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using ICT and digital resources for teaching.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development.

    Visual Arts / Painting and Decoration Teacher

    Job Purpose

    • To inspire creativity and develop students’ artistic expression through the teaching of Visual Arts, Painting, and Decoration, while aligning lessons with the Cambridge Checkpoint Curriculum and the school’s creative arts standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach Visual Arts, Painting, and Decoration across assigned year groups, incorporating Checkpoint curriculum objectives where applicable.
    • Develop engaging lesson plans that balance theory, practice, and creativity.
    • Train students in techniques of painting, drawing, decoration, and other visual art forms.
    • Organize and supervise practical art projects, workshops, and exhibitions.
    • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression in students.
    • Provide constructive feedback and assess students’ artistic progress.
    • Maintain and manage art studio resources, tools, and materials effectively.
    • Introduce students to art history, contemporary trends, and cultural appreciation.
    • Foster a supportive and inspiring classroom environment that celebrates creativity.
    • Prepare students for internal and external assessments, competitions, and exhibitions.
    • Communicate with parents/guardians on student progress and showcase student work.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art across other subjects where possible.
    • Support school-wide events, cultural programs, and visual displays.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art Education, or related field.
    • Teaching qualification (PGDE, TRCN registration) is an added advantage.
    • Exposure to and experience with the Cambridge Checkpoint Curriculum is highly desirable.
    • Proven teaching experience in Visual Arts, Painting, and Decoration at school level.
    • Strong creative, technical, and artistic skills.
    • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to inspire and nurture artistic talent in students.
    • Familiarity with a wide range of art media, techniques, and digital art tools.
