    Retail Associate

    Description
Please read carefully beforeto the. end before applying:

    • Azarai has been designing engagement and wedding rings in Nigeria since 2014. We work with moissanite, lab diamonds, natural diamonds and precious metals. Our customers are making one of the biggest purchases of their lives, and they need someone who knows the product to guide them.
    • We are hiring Retail Associates for our Ikeja store. You will run the store day to day — serving customers, closing sales, managing stock and keeping the space in the condition our customers expect.
    • We don't care about degrees or qualifications. We care about work ethic, integrity and a willingness to learn.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Cultivate excellent product knowledge
    • Guide customers to make purchases and close transactions
    • Respond to customer enquiries and resolve complaints
    • Maintain cleanliness and good decorative order in the store
    • Manage stock levels and ensure availability of inventory
    • Ensure the POS is working
    • Ensure supply of all office consumables
    • Ensure timely opening of the store
    • Arrange store displays in an inviting fashion
    • Accept repairs and ensure they are dispatched and returned promptly
    • Enforce company policies
    • Execute company promotions and offers

    What We Expect
We are direct about this so nobody is surprised after they start.

    • Complete training before you serve a customer. Training is rigorous. It is not a formality.
    • Turn up on time, every time. You are responsible for the store opening on schedule.
    • Excellent personal grooming, every shift. This is non-negotiable in a luxury environment.
    • Know the product. You are expected to answer technical questions about stones and metals accurately and confidently.
    • Own the store. Cleanliness, displays, stock accuracy, POS, consumables and repairs are yours to manage.
    • Sell. This is a performance-based role. We expect you to be confident selling a high-value product to a well-educated, affluent customer base.
    • Weekend and holiday availability. Saturdays are our busiest days. You may also be scheduled on Sundays and public holidays.
    • Commit for at least a year. We invest heavily in training and want people who intend to stay.

    Requirements

    • You must live in Ikeja or the surrounding areas — Ogba, Agege, Ojota, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Oregun or similar. This is a firm requirement. A long daily commute makes this role unsustainable and we would rather be upfront about it.
    • Excellent spoken and written English. You will be administered a diction test.
    • Tech-savvy and comfortable using computers and software.
    • Available Monday to Saturday on a rotating 18-shift roster, including Saturdays.
    • Calm disposition and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Due to the nature of our product and client base, female candidates are preferred.

    Helpful, not essential

    • A major Nigerian language (Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa)
    • Previous retail, customer service, hospitality or sales experience
    • Comfort dealing with well-educated and affluent customers
    • Personable, good at solving problems, able to multi-task
    • No jewelry experience required. We train you. We would rather hire someone with the right temperament and teach them the product than hire someone who knows the product but cannot connect with a customer.

    This Role Suits

    • People who need flexible work around school, family or another commitment
    • People early in their career who want serious sales and customer service training
    • People changing direction who want to build a new skill quickly

    Working hours:

    • 18 shifts per month, approximately 150–160 hours — roughly four days a week.
    • The roster is flexible, but you can be scheduled at any time within our trading hours: 9am–6pm Monday to Saturday, and 12pm–6pm on Sundays.
    • You may be scheduled on Sundays and public holidays depending on staffing requirements.

    Why Work Here

    • You get your week back. 18 shifts a month, roughly four days a week. Most Lagos retail jobs take five or six days. This one leaves you three.
    • You earn more when the store does. Base pay plus uncapped commission on store revenue, every month.
    • We train you properly, and we pay you while we do it. Technical jewelry knowledge, metals, ring sizing, elocution and diction, conflict resolution, customer service, and running a tech-enabled retail operation.
    • You learn skills that travel. Selling a high-value considered purchase to an affluent customer is a difficult, well-paid skill. Whatever you do after Azarai, it will be worth more than shop-floor experience.
    • You are not competing with your colleagues. Commission is shared across the store, not paid per individual sale. Nobody fights over customers or over who gets the good shifts.

    Remuneration
Your pay has two parts. Both are paid monthly in arrears.

    • Base pay: N117,000 per month. This is paid pro-rata for hours worked. At a standard roster of 18 shifts (approximately 156 hours a month), this works out to around N750 per hour.
    • Commission: 1% of total store revenue, shared equally among the Retail Associates at your store. Uncapped — the more the store sells, the more you earn, every month.
    • Total monthly earnings: N130,000 – N160,000, depending on performance.

If you live in Nyanya, Karu, Mararaba, Lugbe or Kuje, the cross-city journey is likely to make this role unsustainable — we would rather be upfront about that now than have you leave after three months.

    Operations Admin

    Description
Please read carefully beforeto the. end before applying:

    • Azarai has been designing engagement and wedding rings in Nigeria since 2014. We work with moissanite, lab diamonds, natural diamonds and precious metals across three stores — Ikeja, Lekki and Abuja — and an online shop.
    • We are hiring an Operations Admin to run the back-of-house that keeps all of this working. This is the person who makes sure the stock is accurate, the online orders go out, the repairs come back, the suppliers get chased, the stores stay powered and secure, and the team gets paid and scheduled correctly.
    • It is a single job with one owner, based at our Ikeja store, and you report directly to the founder.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Run cycle counts and keep inventory records accurate
    • Receive and check in new stock against purchase orders
    • Manage inter-store stock transfers
    • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
    • Carry out a quarterly stock audit at the Lekki store
    • Fulfill online orders — pick, pack, dispatch and share tracking
    • Maintain the Shopify catalog: product uploads, pricing and images
    • Write clear, appealing product descriptions for new pieces
    • Manage customer repairs end to end: intake, dispatch, chasing and return
    • Keep an accurate repairs register with every item accounted for
    • Chase outstanding supplier orders and keep the stores in stock
    • Prepare supplier and vendor payment runs for approval
    • Keep the stores physically operational — power, air-conditioning, security systems and upkeep — and coordinate vendors and servicing
    • Track and reconcile business expenses

    Requirements

    • You must live in Ikeja or nearby — This is a firm requirement: a long daily commute makes the role unsustainable, and we would rather be upfront about it. You should also be willing to commute to our Lekki store roughly once a quarter.
    • 2–3 years in retail operations, inventory, or operations administration.
    • Experience running payroll and reconciling expenses. You should be comfortable being responsible for money and records.
    • Comfortable with Shopify, spreadsheets and general business software
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, in particular working with CSV imports and exports and familiarity with Excel functions and keyboard shortcuts
    • Excellent spoken and written English. Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Impeccable integrity and verifiable references. This is a firm requirement, not a formality
    • Available three weekdays a week, with the occasional Saturday for stock counts.
    • Calm, methodical, and able to work independently to a deadline.

    What We Expect:

    • Accuracy is the job. Stock counts, payroll and expenses have to be right. This is a role where "roughly" is not good enough.
    • Integrity, without exception. You will handle high-value stock and outgoing company payments. We check references carefully and we mean it.
    • Turn up on your scheduled days. The stores and the team depend on you being where you said you would be.
    • Discretion. You will see payroll, staff records and financials. They stay confidential.
    • Own the outcomes. Every part of this role has a measurable standard — clean stock variance, orders and repairs turned around on time, payroll accurate and on time. You will be measured against them.
    • Be based at our Ikeja store. This is an Ikeja role. You will visit our Lekki store roughly once a quarter for a stock audit; day to day, you are at Ikeja.
    • Commit for at least a year. We invest in training you into the role and want someone who intends to stay.

    Working hours:

    • Three days a week, 9am to 5pm (an 8-hour day), approximately 13 shifts a month.
    • Primarily weekdays, with the occasional Saturday when a stock count or receiving window falls there. The schedule is agreed in advance and is stable month to month.
