    Procurement Officer

    Description

    • Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support and execute procurement activities for projects and operational requirements.
    • The role will be responsible for supplier sourcing and evaluation, RFQ/RFP management, techno-commercial bid coordination, purchase order and contract placement, supplier expediting, and timely delivery, while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review purchase requisitions, BOQs, technical specifications, and project requirements to determine procurement needs.
    • Identify, prequalify, and evaluate suppliers based on technical capability, commercial credentials, past performance, and compliance requirements.
    • Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs and ensure receipt of competitive and technically compliant quotations.
    • Coordinate with Engineering and Technical teams for technical evaluation, clarifications, and bid assessments.
    • Prepare commercial bid comparisons and provide procurement recommendations.
    • Prepare and process purchase orders and contracts in line with approved procedures and delegated authority.
    • Monitor supplier orders, including manufacturing progress, inspections, dispatch, and delivery.
    • Coordinate with suppliers, logistics, inspection, warehouse, project, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, approved procedures, delegation of authority, and ethical standards.
    • Use MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP systems, and AI/digital tools for procurement analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
    • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and support timely completion of assigned procurement activities.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • B.Eng./B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5–6 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within a petrochemical, fertilizer, manufacturing, engineering, or equivalent industrial environment.
    • Prior experience in procurement, contracts, and commercial activities is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, RFQ/RFP management, commercial bid analysis, and order expediting.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookups, charts, and data analysis.
    • Good knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word, ERP systems, and AI/digital procurement tools.
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
    • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices.
    • Zero tolerance for procurement fraud, conflict of interest, kickbacks, or unethical supplier practices.
    • Proficiency in English.

    Technical Assistant

    Job Summary

    • The Technical Assistant provides strategic, operational and analytical support to the Managing Director by coordinating cross-functional initiatives, tracking business performance, preparing executive reports and ensuring timely execution of strategic priorities across the organization.
    • The role serves as the coordination hub between Management, Operations, Credit, Finance, Compliance and Business Development, ensuring that business decisions are translated into measurable actions.

    Job Roles and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, executive decisions, and action plans assigned by the Managing Director to ensure timely execution across the organization.
    • Prepare high-quality executive reports, presentations, briefing notes, management dashboards, and other decision-support materials for Management and the Board.
    • Monitor departmental performance against approved KPIs and strategic objectives, analyse business performance trends, and escalate key risks, challenges, and opportunities requiring executive attention.
    • Coordinate cross-functional projects by tracking implementation timelines, facilitating collaboration across departments, and ensuring timely resolution of execution bottlenecks.
    • Conduct business, market, and competitor research to support strategic planning, business growth initiatives, product development, and executive decision-making.
    • Review operational processes and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, governance, and service delivery across the business.
    • Support the implementation of corporate policies, strategic initiatives, and organizational change programmes while monitoring compliance with approved management directives.
    • Coordinate executive and operational meetings, document resolutions, maintain accurate records of management decisions, and follow up on agreed action items.
    • Monitor regulatory obligations, support internal audit and compliance activities, and coordinate the timely submission of executive and regulatory reports.
    • Prepare periodic reports on strategic initiatives, operational performance, project status, and organizational priorities, providing actionable insights and recommendations to Management.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline.
    • MBA or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
    • 2–3 years in strategy, operations, management consulting, executive support or financial services.
    • Experience in a regulated financial institution is preferred.
