    Presales Engineer – Infrastructure Services

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a dynamic Presales Engineer with deep technical expertise in infrastructure services, particularly in backup and recovery, enterprise storage, server hardware, hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), and virtualization. This role is pivotal in translating complex IT requirements into robust, scalable solutions that address real business needs. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll work closely with the sales team and enterprise clients to drive pre-sales engagements from discovery to solution validation.

    You’ll be part of a high-impact team that sits at the intersection of technology and business, helping customers modernize their infrastructure and maximize ROI from IT investments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Partner with account managers to uncover customer requirements and design tailored infrastructure solutions across backup/recovery, storage, servers, HCI, and virtualization.
    • Deliver technical presentations, whiteboard sessions, product demos, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) that clearly communicate solution capabilities and business value.
    • Prepare detailed technical proposals, including solution architectures, BOMs, migration strategies, and ROI/TCO analyses.
    • Act as a technical subject matter expert in customer engagements, addressing architecture design, integration points, sizing, scalability, and operational models.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of customer environments and provide strategic guidance on future-state infrastructure roadmaps.
    • Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to position your solutions effectively.
    • Assist in RFP/RFI responses, contributing accurate and compelling technical content.
    • Participate in post-sales handover sessions, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer to delivery teams.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in presales engineering, solution architecture, or related technical customer-facing roles within infrastructure services.
    • Demonstrable hands-on expertise in:
    • Backup and recovery: Veeam, Veritas, Commvault, Cohesity, Rubrik.
    • Storage: SAN/NAS architectures, enterprise storage platforms (Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, etc.).
    • Servers: Rack/tower/blade architectures, compute sizing, hardware refresh cycles.
    • HCI: VMware vSAN, Nutanix, Cisco HyperFlex, or similar.
    • Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V.
    • Strong ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating features into business outcomes.
    • Proficiency in creating architecture diagrams (e.g., using Visio or Lucidchart) and technical documentation.
    • Experience engaging with mid-size to large enterprise clients across FSI, legal, oil & gas, and public sector verticals.
