    Porter

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a physically fit, responsible, and hardworking Porter to join our support team at the Igando branch.
    • The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations by assisting with the movement of patients, equipment, and materials within the facility and MUST reside in Awka

    Responsibilities

    • Transport patients safely between departments (e.g., from reception to consulting rooms, laboratory, radiology, wards, or pharmacy).
    • Move medical equipment, supplies, laboratory samples, and other materials as required.
    • Assist in transferring patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds.
    • Support the cleaning team by disposing of waste (including biohazardous waste) according to safety protocols.
    • Deliver documents, reports, and test results between departments promptly.
    • Ensure corridors, entrances, and workspaces remain clear and unobstructed.
    • Provide basic assistance to patients and visitors when needed.
    • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of wheelchairs, stretchers, and trolleys.
    • Perform any other support duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of SSCE / WAEC / NECO or equivalent.
    • Previous experience as a Porter, Ward Assistant, or in a similar support role in a hospital is an advantage.
    • Valid means of identification.

    Requirements & Skills:

    • Physically fit and able to stand and move for long hours.
    • Responsible, punctual, and respectful attitude.
    • Good communication skills and ability to interact politely with patients and staff.
    • Ability to follow instructions and  work as part of a team.
    • Awareness of basic infection control and patient safety practices.
    • Honesty and high level of integrity.

    Laboratory Manager

    Job Description

    • We are seeking an experienced, leadership-oriented, and quality-driven Laboratory Manager to oversee all laboratory operations at our Awka branch.
    • The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance and must reside in AWKA

    Responsibilities

    • Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the laboratory department.
    • Supervise laboratory scientists, technicians, and support staff.
    • Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable performance of all laboratory tests.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor quality control and quality assurance systems.
    • Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and inventory management.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and biohazard waste management.
    • Liaise with clinicians and management on laboratory results and service improvement.
    • Prepare monthly laboratory reports, budgets, and performance metrics.
    • Conduct staff training, performance appraisals, and continuous professional development.
    • Manage external quality assurance programs and regulatory compliance.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree from a recognized institution.
    • Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
    • Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC experience in a medical laboratory, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
    • Postgraduate qualification in Laboratory Management or Quality Assurance is an added advantage.
    • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate (completed).

    Requirements & Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality management systems, and ISO standards.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
    • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results.
