    Optometrist

    Job Summary

    • The Optometrists will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the visual system, eye diseases, and injuries
    • You will prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed, diagnose problems or impairments and provide treatment
    • The Optometrist will interact with patient and staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Strong decision making ability and attention to detail are important in this position. .

    Responsibilities
    Your duties shall include, but not limited to the following:

    • Perform vision tests and analyze results.
    • Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses
    • Examine patients’ eyes courteously using observation, instruments, equipment and pharmaceutical agents.
    • In charge of the day to day running of the optical department, keeping and providing record of activities.
    • Administering, organizing and planning the development of the practice.
    • Communicating with patients to get detailed case histories
    • Examining the eyes of patients of all ages to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality or vision defects.
    • Being aware of signs and symptoms of general health conditions (e.g. hypertension, asthma, ulcer, diabetes e.t.c).
    • Refer patients to ophthalmologists if eye problems are beyond scope of practice.
    • Offering advice to patients and reassuring them about vision-related matters.
    • Offering help and advice for patients choosing frames and lenses.
    • Liaising with other medical practitioners and sometimes sharing the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions.
    • Meeting sales targets with regard to selling spectacles or contact lenses.
    • Undertaking continuing education and training (CET).
    • Managing staff, including dispensing opticians and clerical staff, and training junior staff.
    • Managing the retail aspects of spectacles, contact lenses and other vision care products.
    • Participate in outreaches.
    • Ensure that all consumables needed are available and on time.
    • Work with other team members to coordinate the camp/hospital
    • Generate various reports.
    • Drive business growth in your unit.
    • Ensure all equipment’s are well used and maintained.
    • Provide innovation solutions.
    • Advising the management on new development in the eye care industry.
    • You will be required to work at our other branches from time to time.
    • You shall report to the Lead Optometrist or other assigned superior on daily basis, and carry out assignments given that will uphold the values of the department.
    • All other duties assigned by the Lead Optometrist and SHL Management.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Must have a valid practicing License
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Optometry is required.

    Driver

    Job Summary

    • To provide secure and timely driving services to transport passengers and/or goods.
    • Deliver payment transfers to the bank and/or the suppliers, assist with postage and with pick up of office purchases, including flight tickets and any other tasks required by Head of Administration or his/her substitutes.
    • Act as a backup for the Receptionist, assist with meeting room re- arrangement for various meetings / events and perform occasional handyman jobs inside the Office.

    Responsibilities
    Transport of staff, consumables and hospital equipment (Logistic Support):

    • Provide transportation for Head of Office, other employees of EFH and visitors.
    • Distribute mail as needed, both incoming and outgoing.
    • Pick up flight tickets.
    • Deliver correspondence and consumables to other branches.
    • Facilitate airport pick-ups for VIP visitors and transportation during official visits

    Service Vehicle Maintenance Management:

    • Schedule annual vehicle examination for service vehicles with the Transportation Department and apply for the renewal for the vehicle license.
    • Determine when and what kind of maintenance the vehicle needs, keep track of general maintenance schedules, especially car tyre condition.
    • Ensure sound running of the vehicles assigned and arrange minor repairs where necessary.
    • Check oil and tyres properly and keep the service vehicles in clean condition, both inside and outside - Keep track of timely car insurance renewals
    • Update monthly mileage records.
    • Maintain log book of each service vehicle on daily basis.

    Act as back up for the Receptionist and as a messenger:

    • Act as a backup for the Receptionist during lunch hours and as needed by answering to the phone and taking care of visitor registration, incl. maintaining a register of incoming visitors.
    • Support Administration Section as a messenger by assisting with the mail deliveries, both incoming and outgoing.

    Other Tasks:

    • Assist with office and meeting room re-arrangement for various meetings / events.
    • Occasional handyman jobs in the Office, such as hanging pictures and small office repairs.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of senior secondary school certificate is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a corporate driver.
    • A soft Technical skill in electrical or Mechanical is an added advantage.
    • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Highly skilled in driving light and heavy vehicles.
    • Competent at checking the vehicle for problems and performing pre/post trip maintenance tasks.
    • Excellent driving record.
    • Knowledge of city streets and addresses.

    • Talented in preparing and making the route in an efficient way.

    • Well-versed in the cleaning of both the inside and outside of the vehicle.
    • Proven record of picking up passengers and listening to their concerns.
    • Able to give accurate and detailed information about routes and journey.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide a secure environment for passengers and employer while in transit.
    • Known for transporting passengers in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
    • Adept at collecting fares.
    • Thorough understanding of motor vehicle engine functionality.
    • Effective skills in maintaining the log of mileage, the number of trips, passengers, and destinations.
    • Familiar with all traffic laws and regulations.
    • Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    • Special talent for interact with guests and clients in a respectful and amicable manner.

    • Double qualification in Ophthalmic Nursing is an added advantage.
    • 1 year experience in Nursing and patient care.
    • Experience in Eye Healthcare is an added Advantage.
    • Must have a current practicing license.
    • Must be an intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
