Job Summary

Works with Network Architecture team to translate architecture requirements into platform level configurations. Performs tests that support deployment readiness decision.

Responsibilities

The Network Performance Analyst will be responsible for Monitoring, analyzing and reporting of node events on the Main One network. Other responsibilities include:

• Apply highly developed inductive reasoning skills to provide a proactive approach to potential network Operating System or hardware Failure.
• Create custom alert schema, reports and custom dashboards
• Characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential failure/threats to network resources
• Provide relevant key performance information to aid network planning and operations
• Add network Context, eliminate noise and false positives, and develop trends and data models
• Performing root cause analysis of Network OS and hardware failures using Logs
• Provide relevant log data to aid troubleshooting and resolving of network issues.
• Explore existing knowledge base and make recommendation to improve systems, solutions and processes
• Identify and validate new log sources, search through indexed data and develop methods to improve data mining, analysis, and reporting.
• Gather and accumulate data from disparate sources, clean it, organize it, process it, and analyze it to extract valuable insights and information.
• Identify new sources of data and develop methods to improve data mining, analysis, and reporting.
• Validate log sources and indexed data, search through indexed data to optimize search criteria
• Present the findings in reports (in table, chart, or graph format) to help the Network Planning and management team in the decision-making process.
• Create data definitions for new database files or alterations made to the already existing ones for analysis purposes.
• Keep track of the trends and correlational patterns among complex data sets.
• Perform routine analysis tasks to support day-to-day network functions and decision making.
• Work closely and collaboration with other network team and the business management team to accomplish company goals

Qualification

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or related field
• Relevant professional/technical certifications in Big Data/Hadoop/SIEM
• Good presentation skills
• Relationship Management skills
• Time & self-management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of networking technologies
• Hands on experience in Big data analytics, SIEM and syslogs operations
• Should be able to script in any language but preferably python
• Ability to develop relational databases for sourcing and collecting data and write SQL queries to extract data is an added advantage
• Service provider experience in technologies with syslog applications preferably Splunk

Job Summary

• The IP NOC engineer will be responsible for proactive monitoring of Transmission and IP services and devices across Equinix network through the support of Network monitoring systems, perform first-line troubleshooting/fault isolation, resolve where necessary and escalate to other levels for support in line with Equinix internal processes

Responsibilities

• Monitor Equinix network providing a specific update, status, and performance of all network components, capacity services etc.
• Identify and provide at least first-line support on all faults on the Equinix network in accordance with the Company’s standard operating procedure for fault escalation and management
• Maintain and ensure full compliance with all Equinix NOC processes and procedures
• Ensure proper technical documentation of all network events throughout normal/shift cycles or operations
• Answer all network support related telephone calls and interface with internal/external customers on operational issues and related network events, using Equinix standard operating procedures
• Run daily and weekly management reports on network events and activities as well as tracking escalations and other key performance indicators and ensure all customer SLAs are met

Qualifications

• B.Sc / HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related discipline
• Proven years’ experience in the configuration, operations and maintenance of Network devices (Cisco, Juniper, FortiGate etc.) optical fiber SDH and wireless network equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong Knowledge of Synchronous Digital Hierarchy technology
• Strong Knowledge of DWDM/OTN technology
• Strong knowledge of PtP/PtMP Microwave technologies
• Knowledge of basic TCP/IP configurations and troubleshooting
• Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and in writing
• Working knowledge of IP devices
• Working knowledge of Ubiquiti or Ceragon radio
