    Medical Officers

    Job Summary

    • This role is responsible for performing inpatient and outpatient care, providing necessary documentation on health reports and discharge summaries of patients. Liaising with consultants regarding the provision of inpatient and outpatient care including diagnosis and medication plans.

    Key Result Areas (KRA)
    The key result areas of this role are

    • To provide quality medical care to patients under the supervision of the HOD, Consultants and other senior medical staff.
    • Analyze records, reports, test results or examine patients to diagnose medical conditions that are complex and refer to appropriate consultants for further care.
    • Assist consultants in performing cesarean sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve the patient’s health.
    • To ensure comprehensive, accurate, and concise medical records are collected and maintained for patients with an appropriate signed and dated legible entry in the patient’s medical record on every attendance upon a patient.
    • Contribute to quality patient care by participating in case planning which includes appropriate pre-admission planning, in-hospital care and discharge planning.
    • To arrange investigations, medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Senior Registrars or Consultant to which assigned.
    • To be "on-call" or participate in shift rosters is a requirement of the position

    Requirements

    • Candidate must be licensed to practice medicine from the Nigerian Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria.
    • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery.
    • Must have at least 1-3 years’ experience as a Medical Officer.
    • Candidates must be Knowledgeable in General Medicine and other related areas of medical practice.
    • Must have valuable sympathetic bedside manners, strong active listening skills and advanced problem-solving abilities while being able to work in a team.
    • Candidate must possess excellent communication skills.

    Radiographer

    Job Summary

    • This role is responsible for handling all diagnostic level x-radiation, imaging equipment and its associated instrumentation in the production of medical images of the human body and in the performance of radiologic procedures such as using radiation in the form of x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging and ultrasound to assess, diagnose and treat patients for a variety of injuries and diseases.

    Key Result Areas (KRA)

    • Responsible for the proper positioning of patients into the beam of the radiation source and adjusting the proper exposure techniques for the optimum film resolution with the least radiation exposure to the patient in line with the ALARA principles to get the most accurate images.
    • Responsible for placing proper immobilization devices and protective shielding on patients.
    • Responsible for the calculation of the length and time of exposure for the diagnosis or treatment of the affected area.
    • Produce high quality diagnostic images using the appropriate medical imaging modality and distinguish acceptable radiographs for the radiologist to interpret and asses.
    • To perform a wide range of specialized radiographic procedures such as ultrasound, computed tomography and MRI procedures across a variety of complex clinical presentations and pathologies according to required standard.
    • To operate a variety of Information technology systems to a high level, including the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) and ensure that all data inputs are accurately recorded in order to maintain the integrity of data for both patients and the service.
    • Process images and maintain a proper inventory of supplies.
    • Accurately schedule the patient's appointment with the radiologist.
    • Manage patient records.

    The Person

    • Minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc) in Imaging Science/Radiography.
    • 2 to 3 years post-NYSC relevant work experience in radiography or medical imaging.
    • Registration with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
    • Knowledge of the Microsoft office package.
    • Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal and people management skills.
    • Possess high degree of accuracy and attention to details
