    MD / CEO (Microfinance Bank)

    Job Responsibilites

    • Execute the decisions of the OMFB Board of Directors.
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of OMFB.
    • Participate in hiring and supervision of the senior management team.
    • Manage relationships with Investors, regulatory agencies, creditors and other partner institutions.
    • Create and implement a framework for the operation of an effective senior management team.
    • Foster and maintain a corporate culture within OMFB that embodies high integrity and all other OMFB values.
    • Ensure that the organization follows best practices for internal control and risk management.
    • Operates in a fiscally responsible manner within agreed budget parameters.
    • Ensure sound financial recording /reporting.
    • Ensure that OMfB meets the targets set forth in the business plan and annual budget. Supervise all heads of department to achieve efficient, productive and profitable loan and deposit portfolio growth in line with corporate strategy.
    • Lead the identification of target market segments and develop strategies for growth.
    • Provide strategic input and direction for the development of performance targets, including on-going monitoring to ensure achievement of set targets.
    • Build the organizational structures and business teams to maximize productivity and performance.
    • Ensure business compliance with company's policies, procedures and corporate governance expectations.
    • Participate in projects geared towards new products/ service development and or product / service enhancement by giving appropriate guidance on required checks, controls, processes and procedures in line with leading practices within the sector.
    • Facilitate and present periodic business performance review reports to the Board.
    • Participate in other Executive Management Committees and other related tasks.
    • Ensure and promote advocacy roles within the Microfinance Bank Associations.
    • Ensure the bank delivers on its short and long term strategic road map.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess a Master's Degree with 10-15 years work experience.

    Head, Business Development / Credit and Marketing

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Supervision of all Business Development initiatives, Personnel and Resources
    • Provide effective leadership guidance in business development strategy
    • Achieve overall profitability target of the microfinance bank
    • Implement and execute regular sales activities to generate business
    • Lead generation through organised sales presentations to prospects
    • Team Leadership; collaborate with staff to ensure successful execution of designated strategies.
    • Interview prospective clients
    • Inspect prospective client's business to ascertain its viability and assessment of collateral
    • Write reports for granting of loan facility
    • Monitor approved loans and advise clients on good management practices
    • Assist in loan recoveries
    • Consistently adhere to regulatory standards

    Requirements

    • The candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 7 - 10 years work experience.

    Head, Branch Operations / IT

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure liquidity position of the branch is maintained at all times through advance planning at minimal costs.
    • Ensure compliance with regulations in the issuing and receipt of cash from the strong room
    • Ensuring account reconciliation and managing situation if this is not the case.
    • Checking daily suspense accounts and exercising snap shots in all of branch operations
    • Introduce and implement effective systems, policies, structures and resources to support the growth of the institution and ensure adherence to the same
    • Serve as the Operations Lead for the bank’s core banking system implementation, aligning system configuration with operational processes and policies
    • Develop and manage a team of well-trained, focused and motivated Banking Services staff
    • Manage centralized loan processing and account opening functions to ensure efficiency, quality and control over loan creation and completeness of Know Your Customer (KYC) / Anti-Money Laundering (AML) activities
    • Define and implement new policies and procedures for Banking Services in support of product development / refinement or upon introduction of new technologies and delivery channels
    • Analyze operational risks, procedures, work flow and controls on an ongoing basis for continual improvement of operational systems
    • Safeguard customer data and protect against fraud through management of authorization levels and access rights
    • Develop and maintain sufficient business continuity plans to ensure service delivery in the event of minor to major incidences & escalation of service exceptions as needed.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Strong First Degree
    • Minimum 5 years in banking/finance/microfinance, with at least four years in back office or operational roles – experience of two years or more in a senior management role at the regional or head office level strongly preferred
    • Proficient in MS-Office Suite (especially Excel) – experienced with Core Banking Systems and good understanding of Information System issues and the role of IS in banking operations
    • Project management qualifications (e.g. PMP) are an advantage
    • Knowledge of process analysis and mapping is an advantage

    Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    Job Responsibilities

    • Oversees the company’s overall finance function.
    • Develops/supervises the development of strong and effective business strategies and plans.
    • Prepares the Company’s annual budget and communicates approved performance targets to all stakeholders.
    • Advises the CEO on major financial decisions and ensures the proper execution of/compliance with the Company’s laid down financial policies, guidelines and processes.
    • Periodically assess the Company’s financial management needs and current capabilities; determines proactively gaps and develops plans to bridge/meet financial needs.
    • Develops effective financial systems to facilitate management decision-making.
    • Oversees budgeting, budgetary review, financial controls, reporting and other financial management processes.
    • Organizes the finance function as may be required from time to time to ensure close alignment to business needs and changes in processes.
    • Oversees the design and implementation of processes that provide business managers the necessary financial data to make decisions and monitor performance.
    • Ensures the effective management of the Company’s financial resources.

    • Monitors Company’s operating performance and overall financial health using established corporate business performance metrics.
    • Enforces financial discipline/guidelines and controls across the company, and especially amongst management.
    • Ensure the development of strong finance capability (an ability to translate business decisions into numbers/financial metrics and to understand the implications for financial performance) across the Company.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • First degree or its equivalent, preferably in a numeric discipline e.g. Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or in a related field.
    • A post-graduate degree or its equivalent in any discipline. An MBA or any other related professional qualification is required.
    • Relevant professional qualifications/affiliations such as ICAN, CIBN, CFA, ACIB etc.
    • Minimum of 10 years senior management experience within the financial services industry.
    • Prior board-level experience/ experience reporting to a board/ board committee.

    Competency / Skill Requirements:

    • Knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian financial services market.
    • Good product development and portfolio management capabilities.
    • Excellent customer relationship development/management skills.

    Internal Auditor

    Responsibilities

    • Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
    • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
    • Obtain, analyse and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc
    • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
    • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
    • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
    • Maintain open communication with management and audit committee
    • Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum
    • Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventions

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields.
    • A minimum of 5 years experience in an audit function in the Banking /Audit firm/ financial services institution Proven working experience as Internal Auditor
    • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
    • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
    • Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
    • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
    • Sound independent judgment
