    Mathematics and Further Mathematics Teachers

    Job Summary:

    • We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics and Further Mathematics Teacher to join our secondary school.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students achieve their academic potential in both mathematics and further mathematics.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Curriculum Planning and Delivery:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards for mathematics and further mathematics.
    • Use diverse teaching strategies to address various learning styles and abilities.
    • Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.

    Student Assessment and Feedback:

    • Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work and performance.
    • Track and record student achievements and areas for improvement.

    Classroom Management:

    • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
    • Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and classroom conduct.
    • Address any disciplinary issues promptly and fairly in accordance with school policies.

    Student Support and Engagement:

    • Identify and support students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring additional help or those who are gifted and talented.

    • Stay updated with the latest developments in mathematics education and pedagogical practices.

    Parental and Community Involvement:

    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress, achievements, and concerns.
    • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community activities.
    • Build positive relationships with the school community to support student success.

    Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
    • Assist in the preparation and administration of standardized tests and school examinations.
    • Contribute to school reports and evaluations.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Education, or a related field (required).
    • Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) (required).

    Experience:

    • Proven experience teaching Mathematics and Further Mathematics at the secondary school level (preferred).
    • Demonstrated success in improving student performance and engagement in mathematics.

    Skills:

    • Deep understanding of mathematics and further mathematics concepts.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
    • Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    Chemistry Teacher

    Job Summary:

    • The Chemistry Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that explore foundational and advanced chemistry concepts, helping students to develop analytical skills and a strong understanding of scientific principles. This role includes preparing students for exams, supporting practical laboratory work, and fostering an environment that encourages scientific curiosity and critical thinking.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Teaching and Instruction:

    • Develop and deliver comprehensive Chemistry lessons that align with curriculum standards for designated grade levels.
    • Teach key topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, organic and inorganic chemistry, and chemical reactions.
    • Use engaging teaching techniques, including hands-on demonstrations, multimedia resources, and problem-solving activities, to explain complex concepts effectively.

    Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development:

    • Create lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials that are clear, detailed, and suited to students’ abilities.
    • Incorporate real-world applications of chemistry to help students understand the subject's relevance in daily life, industry, and environmental contexts.
    • Ensure lessons are tailored to different learning styles and emphasize scientific inquiry and analytical skills.

    Laboratory and Practical Work:

    • Plan and supervise laboratory experiments to reinforce theoretical knowledge, ensuring student safety and adherence to laboratory protocols.
    • Guide students in conducting experiments, collecting data, analyzing results, and preparing lab reports.
    • Maintain an organized and well-equipped lab environment, ensuring all chemicals and equipment are stored and used safely.

    Assessment and Reporting:

    • Design and administer quizzes, tests, exams, and lab assessments to evaluate students’ understanding of chemistry concepts.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support academic growth and address areas of improvement.
    • Maintain accurate records of students’ performance, attendance, and behavior, preparing reports for parents and school administration as needed.

    Professional Development and Collaboration:

    • Participate in professional development to stay current with advancements in chemistry education and innovative teaching methodologies.
    • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department to integrate interdisciplinary activities and coordinate school events.
