    Manager; Product

    Job Description

    • As a Product Manager, you will be part of the Digital Solutions vertical in the Solutions organization collaborating and leading Visa Token Service product initiatives and low cost acceptance solutions i.e. Visa Accept and new acceptance verticles in Urban Mobility. The scope of the role is West Africa and requires a high level of interaction and collaboration with business and technical resources across the company, including digital development platform, network processing, client support services, risk, legal, and operations.
    • The Digital Solutions Manager function will work with a diverse set of Visa issuers, merchants, and mobile ecosystem partners to deliver Face to face payment solutions successfully into the SSA marketplace. The Product Manager position will focus on supporting the Digital Solutions Payments Lead, namely as the product lead supporting clients in the SSA region integrating to Visa Token Service and Merchant solutions supporting new merchant verticals and next generation solutions to enable proximity payment acceptance. To create strategies that define Visa's participation in those opportunities, and delivering the capabilities required to capture those opportunities. This position would be ideal for a candidate with an engineering or pre-sales consultant background looking to build upon that experience in the product side of a payments technology company.
    • A successful candidate will be highly adaptable, coachable, possess strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills, and able to effectively manage multiple work streams. The ideal candidate for this position will have more than 2 years of product management, requirements gathering and use case design experience, with a technical background, an ability to think tactically and strategically, work independently with limited supervision in a fast pace and fluctuating environment.


    Responsibilities

    Visa Token Services wallets: (Across West Africa):

    • Lead and manage tokenization strategy across SSA markets
    • Lead and manage Regional Third-Party project activities to launch market specific Tokenization use case
    • Lead and manage Global Third-Party (Apple, Google, Samsung etc) project activities to launch market specific Tokenization use case
    • Lead and Support Regional meetings with Global Third-Party Wallet providers (Apple, Google, Samsung)
    • Support key business development opportunities, provide input and expertise to pitches, RFPs, and new or existing client opportunities
    • Tokenization strategic approach with Regional Solutions Teams on defining use case availability and market requirements
    • Provide pre-sales technical integration support for the Visa Digital Solutions SDK and VTS token requestor and Issuer APIs through the Visa Developer Center.
    • Provide pre-sales technical integration support for Global Third-Party (i.e. Apple Pay, Samsung Pay etc.) wallet integrations, supporting BD, Client Services and regional solutions teams
    • Lead and drive the rollout of VTS initiatives like the Secure Credential Framework across the region.

    Visa Acceptance And Transit Solutions (Across West Africa)

    • Lead and manage Visa Accept strategy across WA markets
    • Manage and support Transit technology partners, acquirers and merchant aggregators
    • Drive the strategic Visa Accept and Transit roadmaps, defining product and market requirements
    • Provide pre-sales technical support and guidance to regional solution vendors, Payment facilitators and acquirers.
    • Lead and manage Integration, certification and Pilot launches in the SSA market
    • Tracking Visa Accept and Transit pilot performance and reporting into Global
    • Provide regional specific requirements in Global for consideration into solution roadmap

    Product Performance Management

    • Track the performance and delivery of client solutions and subsequent launches, whilst providing regular reporting and updates

    Essential Functions

    • Be the product management subject matter expert for Merchant Solutions and tokenization
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best in class proximity payment experience and capabilities
    • Create / support new use cases, concepts, definition, and product design requirements for the Visa Token Service digital platform.
    • Provide Product technology support to local and regional teams to support this complex and evolving platform, and working across sub-functions as needed.
    • Establish key performance metrics and measurements for the predictable delivery of new features product and ensure continuous improvement
    • Apply creative thinking to determine technical solutions that further business goals.
    • High energy level, performance oriented and passionate about customers, payment industry, and emerging technologies.
    • Ability to work constructively in teams, highly collaborative with a great attitude working on cross-functional teams where there may not be a direct reporting line.
    • Influence directly the prioritization of product feature backlog to drive execution of product vision, roadmap to ensure product goals and market success.

    This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree required in computer/electrical engineering or computer science, or equivalent technology expertise and acumen acquired through work experience
    • Requires a minimum of 1+ years progressively responsible experience in product development in mobile payments and/or mobile application platforms or in payments systems integration
    • The ideal candidate will have experience with mobile contactless payment issuance programs (i.e., payWave or payPass), smart card deployments (i.e., EMV), or with applications using NFC
    • Preferred experience in an engineering or pre-sales consultant role with international experience
    • A technically minded candidate with consulting experience in a sales engineering or systems integration role
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and articulate fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences, in a sales-oriented manner
    • Independent decision making required on daily basis with minimal oversight from senior members of staff
    • Complex and varied workload, required to support multiple ongoing implementations and sales processes
    • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across regional and functional lines
    • Basic planning, organizational and problem solving skills
    • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple activities with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to travel as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Master's, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
    • Senior product management experience in Digital, Payments, and Financial Services.
    • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing digital products for issuers.
    • Deep background in issuing institutions and needs when growing/managing large card portfolios.
    • Strong expertise in defining and executing product strategy, product roadmaps, and go - to - market plans, leveraging data to inform decision-making and secure influence.
    • Solid understanding of software development processes and technologies to collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams.
