Job description Position Lead Educator Experienced (> 2 yrs) Working hours Fulltime Location This position is based at Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos Type of contract Your work contract will be temporary for the first 6months with options to extend to a permanent position. Start date As soon as possible

    Responsibilities The main products Gritwel Earlychildhood and Gritwel Basic school offer are Educational and Edutainment contents.

    Your main responsibility as an educator is to ensure that the school delivers high-quality standard educational and edutainment contents to the parents (& pupils). You will work together with the academics lead and external educational consultant (CDRC Netherlands BV) to develop educational activity plans for children in our various leaning groups. You will correctly interpret our educational curriculum to develop weekly classroom lesson contents. You will maintain a comprehensive and continuous portfolio of baseline assessment for each child, including weekly observations in every development aspect. E.g. Physical development, cognitive development, and socio-emotional development. You will support the development of edutainment contents, with creation of short media clips which features the technical competence and educational capabilities of Gritwel schools. You may be required to formulate / implement intervention educational & development programs for children who require help.

    The following are oversights of your role: Implementation of Educational Programme • Lead the interpretation of our educational curriculum to develop high-quality weekly classroom lesson contents. Our educational curriculum at Gritwel schools is based on the British Early Years Foundational Structure (EYFS) and Nigeria Primary school curriculum. Supervise indoor, role and Children pretense plays • Ensure that children are always supervised, especially during unstructured-play activities. Children Educational Performance Assessment & Reporting • Adopt our formative performance assessment procedures to document the academics and development profile of every child. Development of Edutainment Contents • Develop activities that support children’s learning with incidental entertainment values, and creation of short media clips. Some additional tasks for the educator position are summarized below: • receive children from parents at drop off, • ensure that parents sign all necessary forms during drop-off and pick-up • administer children daily routine document • place the children down for naps and bedtime and ensuring safety of the children under care. • maintain and ensure orderliness in keeping children material and items in place and intact during pick up time. • participate in annual progress report meeting with parents on the well - being of their children. • Ensure children look presentable, neat, and tidy always.

    Requirements

    • Candidate must be at least 25 years of age, and authorized to work in Nigeria
    • Candidate must possess minimum of Bachelor’s degree / HND in Earlychildhood Education, or any other educational related subjects. Note: NCE is not acceptable.
    • Candidate must have relevant work experience (not less than 2 years) as an educator in an earlychildhood school setting. You must possess technical understanding of the British EYFS and Nigerian primary educational curriculum.
    • Candidate must possess working knowledge on first aid for young children
    • Candidate must be reliable, honest, and trustworthy, with good ethical behaviors – Candidate must have an excellent command of English.

    Working hours 7.00 AM to 4.00 PM, from Monday to Friday. Occasionally training/meeting may be organized for Saturdays.
