Lead Control Systems Engineer at Cakasa Maintenance Services Limited

• We are seeking an experienced Lead Control Systems Engineer to lead the engineering, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control and automation systems across our projects and field operations within Nigeria's oil and gas, energy, and industrial sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the engineering, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control and automation systems.
• Develop and review control philosophies, functional design specifications, control narratives, I/O lists, cause-and-effect matrices, system architectures, interface schedules, wiring requirements, and related technical documentation.
• Develop, configure, and review PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI applications, including control logic, sequences, permissives, interlocks, alarms, graphics, trends, and historian interfaces.
• Lead the integration of package skids, instruments, drives, motor controls, remote I/O, supervisory systems, and industrial communication networks.
• Supervise assigned control systems engineers and technicians, including work allocation, technical guidance, quality review, and competency development.
• Lead FAT, SAT, integration testing, commissioning, loop checks, functional testing, and system handover activities.
• Support brownfield modifications, system upgrades, migrations, controlled cutovers, shutdowns, backups, rollback planning. and management-of-change activities.
• Support SIS, ESD, and F&G engineering and testing within approved scope and competence.
• Apply approved OT cybersecurity controls, including network segregation, secure configurations, and access management.
• Lead diagnosis and resolution of controller, I/O, network, software, communications, and interface faults, coordinating safe restoration with Operations and other stakeholders.
• Develop and support preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, reliability improvement, root-cause investigations, and control-system lifecycle planning
• Prepare and review technical reports, test results, engineering deliverables, as-built documentation, commissioning records, and handover dossiers.
• Support technical proposals, tenders, procurement, technical evaluations, client engagement, OEM coordination, and planning.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years' relevant experience in industrial control systems and automation engineering.
• With at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role. Strong hands-on experience in control systems design, configuration, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least one major PLC or DCS platform, together with relevant HMI/SCADA and industrial communications experience.
• Strong experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, industrial networks, remote I/O, drives, motor controls, and package-system integration.
• Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, loop checks, functional testing, alarms, interlocks, failover, recovery. and system handover.
• Experience in brownfield modifications, system migrations, controlled cutovers, shutdowns, and support of operating control systems.
• Working knowledge of SIS, ESD, F&G, functional-safety requirements, and safety-system interfaces.
• Practical knowledge of OT cybersecurity, network segregation, secure remote access, configuration control, backups, and recovery procedures.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, control philosophies, cause-and-effect matrices, I/O schedules, wiring diagrams, instrument datasheets, and system architectures.
• Relevant PLC, DCS, SCADA, industrial networking, OEM, or platform-specific training/certification is an advantage.
• Strong HSE, leadership, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and client-management skills.
