    MEAL Supervisor - ECHO Project

    General job description:

    • The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Supervisor, under the supervision of the MEAL manager provides methodological and technical support to teams to ensure the quality of MEAL tools in projects and programmes, working within the framework established by the MEAL department/organisation, also as the MEAL Supervisor with previous experience in CFRM will supervise the CFRM Officer by ensuring a Structural and clear feedback/complains channels are maintained, and complaints channelled internally to the appropriate department
    • As the MEAL Supervisor will also ensures that MEAL approaches, methods, tools are relevant and consistent across Tdh programs and partner organizations. Helps plan and implement activities requiring specific MEAL expertise. The Supervisor will help to develop a dynamic approach to MEAL inside and outside Tdh (as part of regional partnerships, networks, centres of expertise, working groups, etc.). Ensures MEAL is an integral part of the program department, and the MEAL department plays a support role for the program department. Support to develop, especially for the program department, an institutional culture that encourages critical thinking, collective learning, and teamwork, as part of the organization's focus on quality and accountability. The MEAL Supervisor will also plays an important role in improving information management and data quality, and in strengthening knowledge sharing.
    • In the capacity of MEAL Supervisor, will ensure that data trends and analyses can be extracted from the information entered into the system. Will also ensure data is gathered to report in monthly 5Ws, shared with the appropriate sector that ensures high-quality information management of target beneficiaries in the project. Will also support the Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team as required.

    Main responsibilities:

    General

    • Support the MEAL manager in developing and implementing monitoring plans that are consistent with the organization's orientations for projects.
    • Support the MEAL Manager in implementing an appropriate and effective MEAL system that, where possible, brings together project and program partners during the monitoring.

    General job description:

    Child Protection & MHPSS Supervisor - ECHO Project

    General job description:

    • The Child Protection Supervisor, under the direct supervision of the Head of Base, holds a pivotal role in overseeing and directing all child protection programs, including case management, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) initiatives. Tasked with planning, executing, and supervising these programs, the Supervisor provides vital technical guidance, facilitates capacity-building efforts, ensures stringent quality assurance, and actively engages with communities to ensure efficient service delivery and coordination. Additionally, the Supervisor oversees emergency initiatives, collaborating closely with stakeholders to integrate relevant components into the response efforts. By providing strategic direction and operational support across child protection domains, the Supervisor makes significant contributions to enhancing interventions and safeguarding the well-being and rights of vulnerable children and families.

    Key Responsibilities

    Supervision and Technical Support:

    • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of child protection (Case management and MHPSS) activities in emergency settings.
    • Develop detailed program plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, donor requirements, and humanitarian standards.

    Education Supervisor - ECHO Project

    General objective of the Position:

    • The Education in Emergencies supervisor under the supervision of the Head of Base is a key member of the Nigeria Child Protection and Education in Emergencies Program funded by ECHO. The primary goal of this role is to ensure effective delivery, contribute to building capacities and work closely with a wide range of government, cluster and community-level stakeholders at state and LGA levels.
    • The Position holder is to oversee and manage education initiatives in MMC, Jere, Monguno or Banki. He/She will ensure that education services are delivered effectively and safely to out-of-school, displaced or vulnerable children and youth, often in challenging and dynamic environments.     • Provide valuable inputs to the MEAL team on the development of educational tools to ensure that an effective and results-based monitoring system is in place

    • Support the education team (officers, facilitators, and volunteers) to reach project objectives and provide them with continuous mentoring, guidance, and coaching
    • Organise weekly and monthly activity schedules for the team of monitors to conduct education activities
    • Conduct staff performance planning, evaluation, and appraisal and develop and implement capacity-building plans
    • Conduct regular meetings with the education officers and volunteers and ensure, with the line manager, close coordination with the case management team

    Advocacy and Networking:

    • A minimum of 6years working experience implementing Education in Emergencies projects within an international organization or within the UN system is mandatory. Experience with both sectors will be an added advantage.

    • Under the supervision of the MEAL Manager, the Complaint Feedback Response Mechanism Officer (CFRMF) will oversees CFRM assistants across Tdh implementing location in Borno state to ensures consistent systematic receipt, processing and response to community feedback and complaints that flow through various feedback mechanisms such as hotlines, help desk, suggestion boxes, outreach, and other activities within the scope of the Tdh Nigeria programs cross all Tdh implementation within Borno state.     Education Officer - ECHO Project

    General description of the position:

    • Reporting to the Education Supervisor, under the overall supervision of the Child Protection and Education in Emergencies Program Manager, the Education Officer is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of the Education activities in Tdh project locations.
    • This position will take responsibility for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Tdh's education programme to improve children's learning outcomes (literacy, Numeracy and skills acquisition) through both formal and non-formal education activities.

    • Provide technical support in the areas of education in emergencies to teachers, facilitators,
    • volunteers and community members engaged in the project. Closely collaborate with all the concerned stakeholders to ensure that programme goals are achieved and sustained.

    Child Protechion/Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Officer - ECHO Project

    General description of the position:

    • Reporting to the MHPSS Supervisor, the main purpose of this position is to carry out an array of age and gender-appropriate psychosocial support activities for the most vulnerable and at-risk children, adolescents and caregivers concerning their culture and contextual sensitivities.
    • The activities will be well-integrated into the North-eastern Nigerian protection system and humanitarian coordination practices and guidelines.
    • The activities will be carried out in Monguno, MMC, JERE, and Banki LGAs of Borno State areas according to the evolving needs of the project.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Psychosocial Support

    • Conduct specific child-focused activities for psychosocial well-being and building resilience for the most vulnerable and at-risk children and adolescents by ensuring a variety of activities that include active games, sports, expressive/creative activities, life skills, and educational activities.
    • Mobilize adolescent boys and girls to launch empowering activities that suit their interests, promote their psychosocial well-being and create an opportunity for their direct social engagement at the community level.
    • Conduct emotional group support sessions for caregivers.
    • Work with the Community Development Officer to conduct awareness sessions on child protection issues and issues affecting the protection and well-being of children.
    • Provide basic counselling sessions to support children and their caregivers to better cope with difficulties, and distress and enhance their resilience.
    • Identify vulnerable children and adults in a need of protection or support and conduct referral to the case management team and/or education team as appropriate.
    • Establish and maintain positive and efficient relations with target beneficiaries, community members, humanitarian actors and all the other key stakeholders for the successful delivery of PSS interventions.
    • Ensure availability of the PSS materials and safe storage and maintenance of the PSS materials.
    • Prepare weekly activity schedule, keep record of newly registered beneficiaries, fill beneficiaries daily's attendance lists, and other reports as required by the line manager and ensure accuracy and timely submission.
    • Under the guidance of the MHPSS Supervisor, conduct participatory monitoring activities to
    • collect beneficiaries' feedback and opinions on the quality and satisfaction of activities.
    • Provide supervision, mentorship and guidance to PSS volunteers.
    • Perform any other job-related duties as requested by the line manager.

    Child Protection

    • Promote inclusion and equal access for every child, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and at-risk children.
    • Identify potential cases of children victims and/or at heightened risk of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect and any other child protection concern or threat and report to the Case Worker.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information and data of beneficiaries at all times.
    • Ensure Tdh Child Safeguarding Policy and Child Protection Minimum Standards are mainstreamed through all the programmatic activities.
    • Report serious cases of abuse committed against children to the CPEIE Project Manager and/or Tdh CFRM. Strict confidentiality must be respected.

    Coordination & Representation

    • Coordinates with other Tdh sectors to ensure implementation of standardized activities and with other departments (programme and support) of Tdh Nigeria as necessary
    • Represent Tdh project in fora and meetings held at site level in her/his field of expertise.

    • Community Engagement: Experience in mobilizing and engaging communities.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Hausa/Kanuri preferred
