    Nutrition Officer

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Summary

    • The Nutrition Officer will be directly responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the emergency nutrition programming which includes; Integrated outreach models i.e. CMAM/IYCF done by running of selective feeding program, nutrition surveillance & assessments.
    • He/she will be responsible for managing emergency nutrition responses, working with community health volunteers.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • The Nutrition CMAM/IYCF Support officer will be based in Maiduguri and He/she will provide support for efficient and smooth implementation of nutrition CMAM/IYCF and social and behavioral change activities.
    • He/she will also support the implementation and sensitization activities for targeted communities about CMAM/IYCF with support from Ministry of Health, community leaders and other key stakeholders at local government level.
    • The CMAM/IYCF Support officer will support the state team in conducting rapid/detailed assessment of infant and young child feeding practices in mothers/care givers at mobile clinics.
    • He/she will support the state team in providing personalized IYCF counseling sessions to pregnant women for the preparation of breastfeeding and colostrum feeding and all mothers with children under 24 months.
    • Develop key messages in nutrition to the targeted beneficiaries, and ensure it is delivered appropriately.
    • Offer nutrition support through counseling to individuals with medical conditions including Comprehensive Care Clinic clients.
    • Plan and conduct mass MUAC screening of the under-fives on a quarterly basis in collaboration with the Community Health volunteers
    • Document’s findings and recommendations of field visits for follow-up of beneficiaries and share.
    • Prepare and submit program reports, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness per the responsibility areas
    • Documents lessons learned in specific technical areas.

    Position Requirements

    • Have a minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Nutrition or Community Based Program with similar experience in humanitarian contexts (conflict/insecure contexts) as well as CMAM, IYCF and community mobilization.
    • 1 - 3 years work experience.
    • Be proficient in statistics and other software (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Have excellent team, budget, project management and representation competencies.
    • Be proficient in local languages (Kanuri, Fulani, Hausa).
    • Have the capacity to be flexible and supervise and coach health workers.
    • Have the ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
    • Have previous NGO experience managing mobilization in different interventions (i.e. cash transfers, wash, Nutrition) preferably.
    • Be committed to Action the NGO’s mission, values and policies.

    Nutrition Field Assistant

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Summary

    • This role of the Nutrition Field Assistant is to provide support to the community nutrition workers in the Project’s Communities in implementing the nutrition interventions (Community Management of Malnutrition [CMAM] and Infant and Young Child Feeding [IYCF]) while integrating with other sectoral interventions.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Reinforce project’s activities through outreach activities using community relays and women’s group for community mobilization.
    • Ensure quality of nutrition screening for children under-5 conducted by Community Nutrition Mobilizers in target Communities.
    • Provision of Outreach OTP Services in target communities together with the outreach team.
    • Ensure quality of IYCF counselling sessions provided individual level and group sessions.
    • With support from the Nutrition Officer, ensure quality cooking food demonstration sessions are conducted in Project supported Communities.
    • Ensure that community nutrition interventions (MUAC screening and Referral, IYCF (MSGs, food demonstrations) and hygiene promotion are integrated.
    • Build capacity of CNMs/ field Assistants and Mother Leaders by providing on-the-job training on CMAM and IYCF.
    • Support Project level nutrition assessment/surveys as approved by Donor.
    • Support quality data collection of activities conducted in the Communities.
    • Promote increasing awareness of appropriate nutrition behaviours in project communities by ensuring behaviour change materials are visible in FFP supported communities and health facilities.
    • Ensure quality and timely reporting on all areas of implementation.
    • Liaise closely with the MEAL team so as to understand the project outcomes.
    • Support the development of case studies and success stories from programme implementation.
    • Any other additional responsibility as communicated by the supervisor.

    Position Requirements

    • Degree in Nutrition, Health, Public Health or any related fields.
    • 1year experience for B.Sc Degree holders and 2 years experience for Diploma holders.
    • NGO experience is plus.
    • Nutrition experience in local community settings.
    • Basic computer skill (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and e-mail).
    • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to work autonomously when required.
    • Good command spoken and written English.
    • Knowledge of the local language is mandatory.

    Warehouse / Security Officer

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Summary

    • The Position mainly involves ensuring that GREENCODE properties and staff are working within an environment

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Identify the items entering and leaving and check the quality, quantity and documentation.
    • Report any problems with quality, quantity or documentation immediately.
    • Update the Warehouse Officer on a daily basis, submit weekly report to all concern department.
    • Ensure that the stocks forms bin cards, stock cards etc. are kept up to date.
    • Restrict entry into storage facilities and keep keys for the storage facilities.
    • Ensure that the security planning becomes an integral part of day-to-day operations of the organization.
    • Ensure the safety and security of properties and staff.
    • Check weekly that the store is clean, organized and is regularly ventilated.
    • Control entry of vehicles and people into the premises.
    • Patrol a perimeter fence (inside and outside).
    • Assist with manual tasks around the compound as instructed by the National Coordinator or Warehouse Officer.
    • Report any suspicious activity or security incidents to the Program Manager and Warehouse Officer.

    Position Requirements

    • OND or SSCE qualification.
    • 1 year experience in warehouse security.
    • NGO experience is plus.
    • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to work autonomously when required.
    • Good command spoken and written English.
    • Knowledge of the local language is mandatory.

    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

    Location: Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Description

    • Under the supervision of the National Coordinator, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer shall be responsible for the overall collection, summarizing, compiling, dissemination, storing and timely reporting of all forms data generated from the Project with a key focus on submission of timely, qualitative and quantitative reports to the Program Management Team, donors and relevant stakeholders.
    • Specifically, the M&E Officer will be in charge of managing project data.
    • Establish and manage a system to track beneficiary and non-beneficiary’s feedbacks and complaints management.
    • Support the development and testing of electronic data entry questionnaires using the Kobo collect and Form Builder (or other software as needed) during periodic surveys and data analysis using appropriate statistical package.
    • S/he will work under the direct supervision of the National Cordinator. The position will be based in Maiduguri and will include frequent travels to the field.

    Major Responsibilities
    Monitoring Evaluation Accountability & Learning:

    • Track the project performances vs. project indicators.
    • Create and manage databases to ensure the traceability of the project beneficiaries and assistance provided.
    • Conduct a baseline/end line survey at the start and end of the project.
    • Lead in beneficiary identification, selection and registration.
    • Regularly conduct on site monitoring and post distribution surveys.
    • Carryout rapid need (including market) assessments for proposed and new project sites.
    • Regularly collect and analyze market price data.
    • Review, clean and analyze all project data, including but not limited to: beneficiary registration, baseline study, onsite monitoring, post activity monitoring, price data, final evaluation.
    • Work with project officers for EPI Data collection for GREENCODE implementing projects.
    • Ensure that the project mid-term evaluation and project’s evaluation are conducted in a timely manner and as per donor’s regulations.
    • Ensure the project final evaluation is timely conducted.
    • Elaborate, review, and test all M&E tools.
    • Promote the use of Information Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) solutions throughout the project including for the registration of beneficiaries and other stakeholders for each project.
    • Demonstrated appropriateness of quantitative statistical management programs including ACCESS, SPSS, EPI-INFO, Kobo collect.
    • High degree of competency and comfort with information and communication technology used for MEAL.
    • Strong group process design and facilitation skills, including developing and leading workshops.
    • Demonstrated commitment to gender responsive programming.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills.
    • Team-oriented and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to organize and prioritize a variety of initiatives.

    Key Requirements

    • Have a Degree / HND in Social Science, Art, Humanity or related field with minimum of 2 years experience in a project management, stakeholders’ relations and administration-related role.
    • Have excellent computer skills including with Excel, Microsoft office.
    • Have strong interpersonal skills (communication, give effective feedback and be a team player).
    • Be able to manage stress effectively, juggle competing priorities, balance various programmatic, logistics and team needs.
    • Have the ability to manage work plans including ability to work under pressure.
    • Be committed to the NGO’s mission, values and policies.
    • At least 2year experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, preferably in the NGO sector.
    • Thorough technical knowledge and experience in MEAL.
