    Senior Specialist, Process Risk & Control

    Job Purpose

    Identify and assess operational risks across the technical function, ensuring that appropriate mitigating actions for the identified risks are put in place and continuously monitored. 

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Draft and update functional policies and processes for approval by the Chief Technical Officer (CTO). 
    • Identify, consult and manage internal and external stakeholders to develop new policies and/ or update existing ones. 
    • Communicate new policies and policy updates to staff and other relevant stakeholders. 
    • Update and manage the Technical Department’s Policy Library. 
    • Conduct information/training sessions as required to update stakeholders on new and/ or revised policies. 
    • Draft the process compliance review plan at the beginning of each financial year and communicate the approved plan to departmental leaders and unit managers. 
    • Execute the process compliance review plan, identifying exceptions, recommending remedial actions, and preparing reports. 
    • Socialize process reports with accountable functional leaders and line managers for comments. Close out discussions.  
    • Receive notifications on risks and propose control measures/ mitigating actions across the Technical function. 
    • Liaise with the Enterprise Risk Management team on an ongoing team with regards to identification and mitigation of Technical risks. 
    • Work with Technical teams to perform self-assessments of risks and controls using parameters provided by the Enterprise Risk Management team. 
    • Communicate risks and controls to stakeholders and drive implementation of mitigating actions post-approval. 
    • Monitor risks and implementation of mitigating actions according to plan (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly). 
    • Prepare/ update periodic reports on risk activities and update plans. Share reports with stakeholders and update the CTO’s dashboard post-approval. 
    • Update the Operations Monitoring Framework with risks and controls (where applicable). 
    • Contribute towards shaping a positive risk awareness culture in the organization. 
    • Prepare and submit reports on all matters pertaining to job area. 
    • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Associate Director, Business Support.

    Associate Director, Corporate Commercial

    Job Purpose

    Provide top-notch advisory on drafting, legality, structuring, fiscal efficiency and compliance of contractual arrangements, ensuring that all practices, policies, and business activities fall within the bounds of the company’s legal posture.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Advise management and team members on practices in the areas of commercial and business law; research applicable laws; and provide recommendations on the legal consequences of business initiatives.
    • Provide technical leadership/ advice in the formulation and development of Legal and Regulatory frameworks and ensure compliance of operations with IHS policies and procedures.
    • Partner with the IHS Nigeria leadership team to drive awareness on expected behaviours and impact of non-compliance on bottom-line results and company image/ reputation.
    • Network and build solid relations with internal units and relevant third parties (i.e. technical and finance partners, business consultants, etc.) while also developing close working relationships with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
    • Conduct due diligence and structuring of deals relating to commercial transactions, effectively managing transitions/ transformational issues and risks between entities and external parties.
    • Provide legal advice and effect best practice in relation to company contracts with Tier 1 customers and big 6 vendors, as well as gather/ evaluate relevant facts on decisions and highlight attendant risks.
    • Participate in high level contract negotiations with Tier 1 customers and big 6 vendors, to reduce cost and drive IHS value creation and philosophy
    • Carry out complex legal assignments requiring substantive legal knowledge in diverse practice areas with emphasis in corporate and commercial law.
    • Regularly monitor and review resources of the department, ensuring they are allocated and utilized in a cost effective and financially disciplined manner and in line with budget provision. 
    • Drive knowledge management relating to the business and best practice within the unit.
    • Administer controls to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and requirements
    • Conduct proactive prevention of disputes that may result in cost/ loss for the company
    • Continuously seek professional self-development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving digital landscape.

    • Demonstrable ability to carry out sophisticated legal analysis and exercise business acumen and superior judgement.
    • Proven history of planning and executing numerous complex projects under pressure.
    • Background in civil/ commercial litigation will be an added advantage.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of telecoms laws and issues in Nigeria.

    Engineer, Field Service

    Job Purpose

    Work with site vendors/ contractors to ensure sites and infrastructure on sites are maintained and operated efficiently. 

    Role Responsibilities

    • Perform daily supervision of contractors’/ vendors’ O&M activities across sites, ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), due dates, and specifications are strictly adhered to. 
    • Conduct spot-check inspections and job completion assessments. Supervise end-to-end maintenance schedule and quality assurance. 
    • Complete physical inspections across sites in assigned cluster within specified timelines. 
    • Support community liaison activities. 
    • Take ownership of all planned work activities across assigned sites. 
    • Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality and/ or on-time delivery. 
    • Receive diesel supply from vendors and sign off on waybill and site logbook. 
    • Ensure diesel supply to sites is adequate for every cycle. Alert assigned Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager on diesel levels/ shortfalls. 
    • Ensure diesel waybills are delivered to the regional office within stipulated timeframe. 
    • Visit vendor warehouses at the beginning of every cycle to ensure availability of PPM materials. 
    • Check daily PPM activities in line with validation plan, using approved checklist. Also, use PPM Live to carry out spot checks and provide feedback to the regional Maintenance Planning Specialist. 
    • Validate snag fixing and provide feedback as appropriate. 
    • Identify the need for non-routine maintenance work and provide detailed information on site status. 
    • Follow up on non-routine maintenance work being carried out and ensure compliance with quality and schedule. 
    • Coordinate all site cut-over activities and escalate all RMS and solar solution issues across sites. 
    • Identify the need for asset replacement on site and present business case for the request. 
    • Escalate all site access/ restriction issues and theft cases as appropriate. 
    • Perform integrated site audit on allocated sites. 
    • Fill an Asset Tracking Document (ATD) per decommissioned asset highlighting count and status of assets. Obtain vendor sign-off and forward physical copy of ATD to assigned Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager. 
    • Sign off Job Completion Certificate (JCC). 
    • Report Preliminary Acceptance Testing (PAT) status daily. 
    • Escalate issues on site post-takeover to the Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager. 
    • Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to curb any problems that may arise. 
    • Prepare and submit reports to the Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager on all matters pertaining to job area.
