Duties
Working in the Facility Management section of the Embassy, the Carpentry Maintenance Worker carries out scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and repair work on finish and interior assemblies, furnishings and fixtures in all mission buildings and facilities including residential owned and leased properties. Job holder would repair, adjust and install doors, windows, hardware, wall, ceiling and floor coverings, sunshades and blinds; fixed furnishings; painting of various surfaces; and replacement specified glazing products with required installation materials.

Duties
The incumbent is assigned to Facility Management (FAC) of the U.S Consulate serving as a facilities inspector and will assist the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO) and the Assistant POSHO in performing his/her duties by performing hazardous material and safety inspectors at all nine compounds of the U.S Consulate’s government-owned and leased properties. The position documents inspection results that aid FAC and the General Services Offices (GSO) short-term leased maintenance contractors in ordering supplies and developing work schedules to correct discrepancies found.

Duties
The incumbent is assigned to Facility Management and is directly supervised by the Building Engineer for all assigned duties. Job holder carries out preventive maintenance, repair, installation, modification, trouble-shooting, overhaul, testing adjustment and calibration of various diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, fuel tanks, batteries and chargers, transformers and associated mechanical and electrical systems. Incumbent receives written or verbal requests for maintenance services and ascertains all of the information to determine whether the work is of a routine or emergency nature. This position is a 48-hour per week worked on a shift schedule.
